Holy fckballs. What are they putting in the water down there?
Such a tragedy man. There is a pretty eerie story to emerge from this though. I'll just link a news page rather than typing it all out:

And yes chisa, she has a nice rack. But....too soon.

Something to be said about that sixth sense.
Unfortunate circumstances.

Is it unreasonable of a female friend of mine to not want to go to the movies tonight as a result of this or do I have the right to be pissed off that she's blowing me off?

Always a concern that there might be a copycat....but I always say that the safest time to fly is after a big airline disaster.
Odds are, it won't happen again right away and airlines get tight with inspections and maintenance.
I'd let it slide tonight. Have her come to your house for a tuggie.

Here is a bit more.
Some people like this... take things too far. Mental Institutions were built because of these people.

It does make the right to bear arms seem a little silly, when nut jobs like this can stock pile 6000 rounds of ammo
No one needs 6000 rounds to protect their house from the King of England

Tougher gun laws or banning people having guns altogether will not keep people like this from having them. All it will do is make people who abide by the law easier victims.

It surprisingly does. The last shooting massacre was in 1996 here, made our gun laws even stricter. There are still shootings, and guns around. No killings on the scale of what seems to happen in the US on a yearly basis

When you outlaw owning a gun only outlaws own guns.

Eighty years ago, you could walk into a hardware store and buy a Thompson submachine gun. A firearm is a tool, after all. Getting a fully automatic weapon without background check and without waiting period, as easily as you could get a hammer or some wood.
There weren't any mass shootings back then.
The reason they made the laws so much tougher in the 30s that it became much more difficult to own a Tommy gun was... to keep criminals from getting their hands on them. Because a criminal willing to murder is going to be afraid of breaking some gun laws... lulz
A lot of people love to cite violence statistics and say "Oh, Country X has much tougher laws and they have less crime!" but what they forget is that tons of those statistics are generated by gang activity. For example, while we have few murders in my area, I'd say 75% are gang related.
...and gun laws don't disarm criminals, only the law abiding citizens that aren't a threat.

If guns were illegal, wouldn't it make it pretty difficult, if not almost impossible for a wack job to get hold 4 guns, and 6000 rounds of ammo?
Yeah, he might be able to get a handgun, and 1 clip of ammo. Wouldn't be able to kill 14 people with that
Unless he has hax of course

seems like our increase in population and the rise of incredibly dense cities may have pushed some personalities to the edge, and we're seeing more psychological outliers
terrible tragedy, there was police outside at the theater I went to see TDKR last night
someone is going to use this to push the police state even further down our throats
guns are fine, but we have an underlying pathology in our society that results in shit like this more than Canada or other gun toting nations

Makes me laugh how people say gun laws need changing.
If you're willing to get to the point where that thing thats against the law called murder doesn't bother you, then no gun retrictions or change in law is going to stop you.
Lets say no guns existed in America.... dude drives his truck into the queue... no trucks exist in America... dude throws a bottle of gasoline into the place and torches it.... could go on all day.
you won't stop people who have gone over the edge.
We have shootings here all the time yet we have the most stupid gun laws ever.

Shootings all the time? Could only find figures from 2009 - There were 38 fatal shootings in England and Wales.
Our shootings are usually a pissed of farmer, or some south London gang. Not a 24 emo kid who can stock pile 4 guns, and 6000 rounds of ammo.
Our gun laws might be stupid, but I dont worry about being shot at the cinema, or at university etc

This was a terrible tragedy, even more shocking that it was so close to Columbine.
I get what people have said, that if the US was to outlaw guns then only outlaws would have them. That’s true of any country, but if you are restricting their access to that weapon then aren’t you in a better position? I can’t ever own a gun, but I know that very few people acting illegally will be able to get one either, be that because of access or cost.
In a way Booster is right, if someone has already tipped and decided to do it, then you can’t necessarily stop them with law. However, at least you are cutting off their access.
I have always believed tighter gun laws restrict access for all people, lawful and non-lawful, but in the US it just wouldn’t be possible practically with so many guns being in circulation already. Maybe tightening up availability would go some way to addressing access, then leaving them the chance to deal with the more worrying underlying psychological issues involved.

But they ain't gonna mass murder.
And scrawny child can kill dozens with a gun. Strong man would get overrun.

Anyone can mass murder without a gun as well. How about using a car?
