My honest answer -
I stopped going there at first because I got tired of the back and forth with CAMPER v RUSHER.
Now I dont go back - Because (the way I view it) - Its far too large a community. Constantly new people joining etc.
I prefer the small community. And C4B when we were Major contributing members, was a much smaller community.
You cannot expect a COD4 site to keep growing. However it is actually doing pretty well for being a COD4 site.

I go to clean up the reported post.
That community is the exact reason COD now sucks dick. They are boring, pathetic, scared little players that grew in enough numbers to pat each others back for being so shitty. They preach everything I hate about the game.
Have nothing much to say to 99 out of 100 members.

Pretty much this. Apart from the cleaning reported posts.
I don't want to go to read about playing smart, playing defensive or about what a great slayer someone is in Dom.
The whole cod community is pretty much dead. Not just c4b

each game is so similar to each other, that there's nothing worth talking about...COD is a worn out, vaginally stretched hooker with rivers of man milk oozing out of each and every overused orifice

#18214I still check in there every day because it's where I met everyone (main reason I'm more active here). The reasons I "left".
#1). The constant complaining of members of too little / too much moderation. On one hand, people wanted us to be more strict and then they'd turn around and say we were too strict.
#2). The general attitude that has developed there. More and more people defending a passive play style to generate high kdr for more YT subscribers. In general, we used to have people come there that didn't know much and we'd show them the way of rushing and why it's fun. I think the patience of these people wained and it turned into each side always finding a way to put each other down.
#3). General lack of interest to evolve the site with each passing COD game. I'm honestly surprised that a site called cod4boards is active at all. You don't necessarily have to change the name to keep on evolving the site... so much like the series itself the website feels like it's getting stale.
#4). Funky. This guy is a complete and utter scumbag. If I were to show you some of the shit he has said about people here at L3 or our 'clique' in general I think you'd all have a different view on him + with him insulting my family and me personally.

That's surprising. Had him marked as a PC bud if I ever went that way. Real chill and sarcasm to the stupid people.

#18227Yeah.. he's a very fake person and I'll leave it at that. He was the reason shit went south between me and T2. I had put a LeftAnalog button on the top of our forums and he threw a temper tantrum asking what has LA done for us... yada yada and that I was the only one to come to this stupid site anyway.
So I said to him how about the fact that Syn has made pretty much every single piece of graphic content we have for T2. The button was out of appreciation for what Syn had done for us, it's not like he knew about and "wasn't doing anything for us".
Blah... don't want to take this TOO far off-topic. But in general, it's members like Funky that are ruining that place.

Don't 'dislike' any person over there besides Apex. That fker, I couldn't stand. I even play with Culdude now, and we BS about whatever and play on as if there was never those months of bashing heads.
Its the overall attitude, like you said, about very very passive playstyles and silence this, guard that, watch my sniper feeds leaving tags 4 ft away, Blind Eye/Assassin camping MoaB I must be beast... you can only pick so many battles before its easier to walk away.

I understand your feelings about C4B that is why I named this thread "I need some help" not C4B needs help. And while at first I -which I am sure you might have picked up on- was feeling let down because I took it a little personally, I came to realize that you guys have a really great thing going here. Why would anyone needlessly place themselves in an environment that they do not feel happy in.
I guess it comes down to -at least I think- all of you arrived at a point where enough was enough. I would hate to think that I in anyway contributed to any of that -but I feel I might have- and if I did I would like to know about it. I may not be able to fix it but I would hate to think that I am coming over here and I maybe should not be? Even though I never played -other than COD4 a couple of times- with you all and I mostly do not partake in the majority of discussions you all have had I always felt -through thick and thin- that I connected with you.
It is funny that such a small thing such as a random click from a google search could have landed me on a forum with people of such merit and character that I have found myself caring for each and every one of you more than I said I would allow. Your trials and triumphs, woes and happiness do not doubt has been keenly felt by me. I feel that my protectiveness and at times overbearing nature toward some of you was in someway trying to replace the family I never really got to know.
Anyway I just wanted to say thank you for all of the threads and posts you have made, there is definitely a legacy. And a special thank you to all of you who were mods. That is/was a thankless job but an important one. I know what you all went through I have read a lot of posts in the moderator section and I find you all guilty of being as just and fair in your rulings as any website could ever ask from its moderation team.
Your caring and friendship has been helpful and supportive to me in my personal life as well during some pretty tough times I have been through the last three years.
So all that being said and the mushy stuff aside. You are always welcome at C4B. And I am not giving up my fight to get it back on track.
tl;dr
Thanks.

As stupid or simple as it might sound the main reason is because when I made this thread I was asking for help for me. I need your help" not "C4B needs your help".
And I took it personally because I had dreamed up this huge fantasy where you all would be like "walk needs our help.... TO BATTLE!", and you would all swoop in and help me. I guess I had my heart kind of set on it and when it did not happen I took that as ----->[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].
I know it sounds stupid and after thinking about it was selfish on my part.

I still go back and post in the bored & \V/ threads on occasion, but I rarely post anywhere else. I met everyone except for Alpha over there, so I don't have anything against the site it has just changed a lot since I first joined.

I know when I was in T2 I acted like a complete douche. And encountered this side of Funky soon after leaving so I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't contribute some to his attitude towards L3 (My apologies again mate for my stupidity at the time).

#18930No problems here Spook.
As far as Funky goes, he can go shove it. His attitude towards L3 is because he is a self righteous prick..
As far as this thread goes, I'd say put more emphasis on Black Ops 2. I know you can't change the domain.. but you can make the main focus Black Ops 2 to try and bring more people in.
