I'm super jealous...take pics when you hang it up
in training news, I'm getting super comfortable throwing elbows in the middle of traditional punch combos, like they're another set of hands

They're so deadly. You feel whatever you hit, move backwards with an elbow. It almost feels like swinging a weapon.
2, 1, elbow
1, 1, elbow
1, 2, right elbow, left elbow

lead elbow works great as a space maker and (if you swing down from above, it'll open right above the eye), usually go lead elbow then an inside leg kick since there's zero defense
back elbow is the knockout maker, pure power if you almost step past them as you throw it
back elbow was sounding like kicks on the bag last night

Spinning back?
Or a reverse where you throw it from chest up, I'm struggling to fit that in a combo on a flat bag. Because you can't land it smooth on a bag, you just drag your skin across it.

if you think of elbows like traditional punches, the "back" elbow is the 2....moving forward towards the target, the lead leg should end up slightly past the bag for the most power and snap your hand towards your chest as you throw it...it'll feel and sound like a good cross

this is a great video....for the "cross" elbow though, I do step a bit further towards the opponent, especially when I'm already inside

ahh terminology makes sense
I'm a south paw ( think you are 2) so the left is my back. Can throw that like a punch and leave dents in bag, they will reshape the stuffing lol. And its a great oblique stretch in the process.

yep, I'm southpaw also.....work those elbows and our other deadly weapon, the liver kick...few elbows or good jabs and the gates automatically open up, it's a game changer in a hurry

Purple because? Yea it's fking sexy
The feel is so solid. It doesn't give in pockets like the universal cotton/sand stuffing. It's like hitting a body, not much give. And of course, I hang it and get called right back into work.

Hung it upside down, but it hangs either way. Have to flip it over later.
Ready to order the double end spring bag and 70lb sand anchor so I don't have to drill hole in floor. Slowly not purposely drifting from heavy weight lifting to heavy sparring and hand work. Work buddy already started coming over to hit pads.

get yourself a foam roller, make sure you're taking fish oil every day
at 38, if I'm not stretching all the time, guard work (and kicks) make my hips make strange noises and feel sluggish

Cheese, I'm sure your gym has a variety of bags. I need an uppercut style for added training, hard to do on heavy bag with your wrist angle. Which of these 3 styles is best for it?
Wrecking Ball
Horizontal
hour glass
Or angle style
