Not sure who was all part of the conversation the other night with the coyote, wolf, dog pet owners. You never know how people raise pets its never fun to have them breathing down your back while you're working.

Emotionless. If snakes had puppies, this would be the offspring. Eye contact as long as you look at him, no tail wag, no hair standing, no growl, no jaw clinching. I usually go up and let em sniff me so I can pet it. Not today, customer wasn't home and I wasn't leaving missing a hand.

that's a beast of a dog. it's the quiet dogs you gotta watch out for. specially the big ones. they'll snap on you quicker than you can react.

I've been bitten by 4 at work. But this one I may of had to fill out a 'stupid' report for walking up to it. Love dogs and like to know the temperament of the big ones lol. Guess in the animal world, they don't care if your loggin is Alpha.

Aww it looks cuddly. Tbh it's the small ones you wanna watch out for. Big dogs can control the pressure they apply with their jaws, most small dogs, iirc, just snap 'em shut. And with smaller pointier teeth it hurts a lot more too.

pit bulls in the UK are much different...they generally hang out until it's time for tea or a mild humping of the leg

Got a Rotti - Shep cross.
When I got him, he was 5 years old, 115 lbs of solid muscle.
He's 11 now, still 100lbs....I have never had to walk him on a leash.
Everyone thinks their dog is the best, but he is truly a gentle giant.
Especially if you consider his past.
He came from an Indian reserve. Ran wild for the first 5 years of his life. Used to fight off coyotes, killing some of them to frighten off the pack.
Once he was mine, taking him to an offleash park, if a dog mounted him , he'd be super chill, uttering a deep growl to warn off the dog. If advice wasn't heeded, he was straight to the throat, no blood. Just a real deal "f-you, don't make me bite down".
Could call him off like a light switch. Never had to fear him turning on me because he knew that I'd give him time to sort things out alone. Once I gave the call, he knew it was the right time and the other dog fcked off.
He went toe to toe with some big azz dogs who wanted to get all up in his sh!t. Like humiliated killfarmers, they'd leave in silence, tail between legs.
It's nice having a dog like that. Good with kids, good with people, good with other dogs, but wouldn't let anything hurt his pride or his family.
But people will see him and cross the street, or pick up thier kids or dogs....but the reality is, like most rotti's, he's a more a lova than a fighta.

Those are the dogs you want to take home, protection and playful.
Used to raise Boxers and my stud was like that. 75lbs of muscle and brute strength. Played like a child and kept any other male dog out of the yard. Had an Akita at the same time, somewhere around 100lbs. Good thing they liked each other a bit, had to pull em apart once and it was all adrenaline to get em both arms length away.
I respect Pitts and German shepherd related breeds as 'don't F with me dogs'

Yeah....mix 2 big breeds with brains and you get one hell of a companion.
I love Akita's, but damn, those can be one of the most unpredictable big breed dogs....well, along with Chows.

Japanese fighting dog. The girth of their neck and chest is impressive, nothing could get a lock on em to bring em down. Only downside was the Louisiana heat and her blowing coat 3-4 times a year. Hair was always everywhere. They're still like wolves, they don't make a sound but just pace back and forth staring its opponent down.

agreed. used to have a shep when i was younger. i've had many dogs since her, but none of them can compare. we'd used to ride on her back when me n my bro were little. a couple times a dog would get into our back yard and you'd hear yelpin to the 10th degree. when you looked out the window at the fence. alls you saw was the other dog sqeezin through a hole in the fence about half his size in pure fear.
then a little fuckin yorkie thing got into our yard one day, and my dog killed it. we had to give her away after that. all because of little bitch yorkie that was more of a rat than a dog.

That wolf dog looked stoic. I wouldnt of walked to it neither.
I have a German Shepherd / Husky right now. Shes more of a runt and a scaredy cat then anything. But her bark is loud and would put people off.
Had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is now 13. SO ive pretty much grown up with her. I remember going with my dad to "Puppy Preschool". WHere they help teach the dogs the basic commands. There was this huge Shepherd there. It attacked my dog and man, my dog cowered away (she was only like a few months). Im pretty sure thats where she got her scarediness from lol.
SHes tiny though. You think a Shepherd/husky would be decent size... shes only like barely my chest on hind legs. Around 65-70 lbs.

#3964I want a German Shepard so bad! Full!
Always been in love with that type of dog, other dogs just seem like a wimp.
Except the American Pitbull. lol
I would love to have a dog like that, but my mom and neighbors wouldn't.
My little dog is little and has a HUGE bark. lol
Imagine a big dog. lol

That dogs gaze in the 2nd pic is ice cold.
I grew up with a Ridgeback, so I'm kinda partial to them.
