gun control doesnt work.
e.g.
the shooter was 20 years old.
its illegal in the US for anyone under 21 to purchase/own a handgun.
its illegal to bring a weapon onto a school campus.
despite these gun control laws, 28 people died today by the shooter and his 2 handguns.
obviously the answer is MORE gun control laws?

Its pathetic it was just done to have your name blasted everywhere. Have your 'oh I went to school with him and never spoke a single word' people, come out and say how crazy you were and how they didn't think you would do that.
And its even more pathetic how Hollywood is going to take this, try to spin it into one big ass concert and make millions off their name.

It's easy to point the blame when you aint willing to look closer to home. to do this type of thing, something is very very wrong with you.
This is down to 1 person who, for whatever reason was pretty disturbed.
if he couldn't of gotten guns he would of done something else. it's not the fault of a movie, or a game.
Some humans happen to have something in the brain that is simply wired in backwards.

Tragic? Yes. Shocking? Nope
Give it 3 months and there will be another similar thread to this
Europe, Australia etc probably has a similar percentage of mental kids, who didn't get enough hugs as a child. They watch the same violent films, play the same violent games.
The only difference is that in America, guns are far more easily accessible. Be that legally, or illegally.
But guns aren't the problem here are they? :/
Until something is done about gun ownership/gun control then this will keep on happening, and happening.
1996, there was a primary (elementary) school shooting here. Handguns were banned. Not happened since

Like you mentioned. It does not matter what the law is about gun control and ownership. People who want to use them, find ways of getting their hands on them.
Hypothetically......
If there are 2500 guns in a city... Banning them or not, will not keep people from getting them.
Its a touchy situation with a lot of differing viewpoints. All schools should have metal detectors as you walk through the doors. School children should be safe... no matter the cost.

There was a similar thing to this in the 90s in a scottish town called Dunblane just 50 miles down the road from me where the P.E Teacher started shooting kids in his class I was too little to understand at the time (I was around the same age as the victims) but it makes me sick to my stomach now and reading about this was just horrible.
I dont even know what to say about the whole thing to be honest. Tragic.

Some people are crazy, and they do horrific things. If the same crazy person lived in Europe or China or Australia, would 28 children have been shot dead? Probably not. Yes, many tragic things happen all over the world, but the number of gun-related ones are far fewer and in relation to that, far fewer deaths.
The more hurdles you put in the way, the greater chance they will trip up.
Maybe it is more shocking because America is considered such an advanced country and that if it had happened in a less economically developed country then it would somehow have had less of an impact? When something happens closer to home, it has much more of an impact.

$30 million was raised by musicians, from ONE concert, to provide disaster relief in the wake of hurricane Sandy, and $50 was raised by a similar event post-Katrina.
If they have a big name, it's nice to see them use it for good.

The money is good for the destruction rebuild. But they're after pocketing some too.
You can't buy a life back. Tragedy doesn't need a traveling band.

Imagine if they found a way to be able to bring a person back from a premature death (ie: not one from old age)....
I wonder what they would charge for that?
Seriously....how fcked woudl that be....

What's kinda sad is that on Twitter there are these "Pray4Newtown" accounts. It's fine that they're acknwoledging the children & adults who died, but they also tweet, "Twitter has agreed to donate $10.00 once we hit 10,000 followers.. (or $1 per certain amount of Retweets)" Or something like that. Bullshit.
