What I find perplexing, without watching the video.....but they made early mention of the fear of "Big Government"....which seems to be more of a a republican pillar.....but no one (especially those on the right) fear the real bogeymen: Big Business.
It's not "tha gu'ment" per se, it's the special interest groups, tech firms, Oil and Gas, military contractors, arms dealers/warmongers, etc, etc they need to fear.
It's big business that weilds all the power in the US, and, do you really want Capitalists Gone Wild, or Military Contractors Gone Wild....all profiteers more than philanthropists or guardians of the common good....
Do you want them to continue forcing policy, or do you want the governmnet....the elected individuals to make policy decisions?
If the government is truly a servant to the common good, then people should want it to grow, and they'd approve of thier tax dollars supporitng it. However, it's special interest groups, primarily big business and big oil who control policy decisions.
Fear the Gu'ment all you want....but they're not the bad guys. Its the people who care about maximizing profits at any expense that we need to fear.
And yes, from the "outside' looking in....the US really is laughed at by the rest of the world.
Canada may have a lot of comedic material, but we at least acknowledge how silly our country is.

Government and Business are one in the same at this point, thanks to the Citizens United decision and the rising influence of lobbyists in Washington. Our foreign policy is dictated by profits for defense contractors (i.e. Iraq), and the rise of surveillance drone use will benefit the same people.
Apparently, the 4th Amendment doesn't mean shit to anyone anymore. Just like the "War on Drugs" profits the prison industry and law enforcement fields, the "War on Terror" will continue to line the pockets of every corporate welfare company with their hand out.

Why do you think there is such a congnitive disconnect for many Americans?
I mean, from my window, it's a pretty obvious connection...and I'm an outsider looking in.
Is it a lack of education? Lack of interest? Denial?
I mean, how did YOU see the problem, yet so many others can't?

Education
Critical Thinking is almost actively dissuaded, and a herd mentality is emphasized. Anyone that moves away from the party platform on either side, is immediately discredited and marginalized intellectually.
They want to keep us dumb, so we can be easily controlled

Reminds me of when the Congressmen were trying to pass Internet censorship Acts early this year.Kaz--Money wrote:What I find perplexing, without watching the video.....but they made early mention of the fear of "Big Government"....which seems to be more of a a republican pillar.....but no one (especially those on the right) fear the real bogeymen: Big Business.

They're method was to have big companies control the Internet. Everything that you say or do is fuel for the company to fine websites, close them down, or even have people arrested. I found that appalling.

Didn't watch the video but I know what Alex Jones believes. I'm not paranoid against the government, but I do think its time to try something new. We need a federal government that gets cut about 1,000x's smaller than its current size - down to constitutional size. I don't mean the crappy cuts the 2 parties propose, I mean real cuts. Let the states be the heavy lifters as was intended by our founding fathers. Break up the military industrial complex. Do you all realize that war is profitable for the US? Buying equipment stimulates the economy! It raises the GDP! Dwight D Eisenhower warned against this! And its here!
