Having a ps3, 360, and Apple TV that all run on HDMI, setting up my old receiver so that everything goes through it, was a pain with only one system getting the full surround sound experience (the ps3, with it's blu ray player). Now, with 4 hdmi inputs into the reciever, and a pass through to the TV, everything will be available at the touch of a button. Flat screen TV sound sucks, and now everything will be surround. Can't wait.

That looks awesome. I have a friend who could use something like that they are forever messing around with cables behind all of their stuff in order to play a movie, switching it from DirecTv to the blue ray player and such.
I am going to show this to them.

This works for me, in particular, because living in a condo, I don't need something with a huge power rating to each of it's amplifiers. This has 50w per channel, and should be more than enough for someone with a living space the size that I do.
People with free standing homes should probably take a look at the rest of their line, or something from Onkyo (who also puts out great sounding receivers)

We have a friend, his name is Jason....but he goes by "Science Guy", to everyone. No one calls him Jason.
He's a fcking genuis, and he made a system like this....1 receiver does it all.
His is also a computer, so he can have it communicate with everythinng in his house....ipods, ipads, internet, tv's, etc. I still have 4 fcking remote controls on my coffee table. lol

I could download an app and control this thing on my Iphone, crazy shit
I'd love to get my whole pad on a network and get one big remote control, but at 1150 square feet, I'd really be disgusted with how lazy my life had become at that point.

Our Sony surround sound only hooks up to the TV But it has Blu Ray built in and an Ethernet jack for internet for Hulu, Youtube, Netflix, and just about every other streaming service that people use (including music). So it's not all bad.

the multiple HDMI inputs is going to be such a wire saver and big convenience
hardest part is going to be disassembling everything and moving wires etc, going to be a few hours of work at least
I'll document the process

Keeping TV on 1 input makes the wifey feel 100xs smarter. 1 remote and constant sound without it jumping up and down from digital to theater to analog.

I have the inputs labeled on my TV, so once the menu is brought up, it's easy for others to figure out what to do
I'll be able to do that with the receiver too

Invest in one of those Logitec or Harmon Karden remotes.
Grab remote push Watch TV, TV and receiver come on.
Push Watch DVD, Blueray comes on and TV input changes
Push Get wife naked, TV turns off.
