Yall got the weather than can handle those dogs. I think its cruel to own something meant for the north, down here. You would get arrested for sending your kid around in a fur coat during summer, but its fine to leave a mountain dog outside when its 100+ degrees?!
Hypocrite says that after having an Akita. But once I saw her blow her coat multiple times a year, felt bad and kept a box fan on full blast and moved her kennel to complete shade.

This is his smile the entire time in back seat if we go through a drive through. Or if I kick him out my recliner and take his stuffed animal, then hold it high.

Made 7 months last week. 70lbs
The width growing seemed to slow but he was still growing inches taller every month. Still a big PITA that hates the world but hasn't shown any more aggression towards us. Seems to be centered around any man he doesn't know, that's when he goes into berserk mode. Women and kids can walk right up to him.

Tried to get shot of height. His balls just dropped last month or so, so prolly have another spurt coming. No pun.

Beau's hair is really thin. Took him to the vet and said something about an allergic reaction. He still runs around like a wildman so I'm not too concerned, just trying to figure out what's causing it.

I don't think so. She destroys everything in the yard. Dirt, grass, hose, cloths, tools. :/
But for a week now she been eating grass. Upset tummy maybe?

So the day after the gf informs there is a recall on IAMs food for salmonella, he gets up the next day with some ass runs. Non stop diarrhea and puking water. Tossed the whole bag and went got some Science Diet, plus the 2 meds he'll be on for a week.
8 months, kid back on counter, dog still trying to get him down.

Look back at 3 months. Not much size difference.

Pretty crazy.
My dog was on science diet her whole life. It treated her right.
Just recently switched over from it to another kind. She was having a hard time all of the sudden with it.
You sticking with science diet or just until your pup seems like he is gettin better?

Prolly sticking with it if she orders it through work at vet's cost.
He was on Royal Canin but this fool wasn't paying $80 for 30lbs of food every other week.
I never paid any mind to dog food, would go buy Alpo or Ole' Roy, dog would eat it. We both be happy. Now I see the health issues that cheap stuff put them through.

Bastard has a new taste of comforters. Has destroyed mine and pulled all the cotton out of it. He quit with the growling when punished, now just tucks nub and runs to cage. Just made 9 months and 80 lbs. He's still growing taller too, Gets on hind legs and is up to my chin. Can't walk without pinch collar, entirely too strong when he gets traction and a desire to run.
Red rocket. Balls soon to go lol

Also have come to realize, I would NOT fk with a full grown dobie. These stories of dog attacks and people not involved saying they would punch the dog or do this and that. No you wouldn't or couldn't. Their build is the perfect attacking stature. The head, neck, shoulders are about the same width so you can't lock him by his back jaws. The neck is so long, it takes a timed grab to get him in a headlock where he can't still bite your arm or close appendage. They can neck down and get bottom teeth under your arm even if you're around throat. He is incredibly fast and instant lock on to either side if you try to fake 1 way and grab from other. He does not stand back and wait, when its time to wrestle you better be ready to catch his weight. Their legs are as long as your arms, if your arms can reach, his toe nails can too and he will strike like a wild deer off back legs with the front paws.
In short, the only way I can win a rough house fight is if I catch behind both front legs and pull him to ground, then quickly get arm under choke full nelson style and lay on him. If this was an aggressive dog at 100 lbs, you will get your ass whipped and bitten. The jaw pressure is up there too, I can no longer pry his mouth open to get toys out.
In shorter, don't fk with a dobie if he growls.

Dont want him havin baby Kanes. Sounds inhumane to snip a dog, but its in good sense. I imagine they are less aggressive too? Wouldnt know, only ever had female doggies.Shadow wrote:Don't take his manhood Alpha. DOn't do it. They go retarded.

its for his health, and partial aggression. His attitude doesn't phase me, but I have small kids in home to worry about. Not that he's ever tried standing one of them down. He won't let me pet him half the time but the gf's 30 lb daughter can drive cars on his back and put berets in his hair.
Clipping them cuts back on alot of the cancerous issues those types are known to get 4-8 yrs of life. Don't want to go through that again.

Gotta snip.
Benefits outweigh everything.
But,
Let him get some size, then clip. No test in his body, and he won't beef up at all.
