If we can get it to break even, that's best. If it makes money, it's not ideal.
Shadow, Maui is like St. Thomas.
But in the pacific.
Derp.
So that's a no, then?

Explain this down.
You bought it, but aren't moving there.
So you rent it out year round? By the week, month, yearly?

Just bought it as an investment property mostly. I have a pension, my wife doesn't. This is a retirement fund.
Some friends we have on island first visited Maui 40 years ago. There were properties selling for $200 000 back then, that are now worth $1.2 million.
The goal is to have it for a vacation rental, personal vacations, and to offer to friends and family for discounted rates.
But no, not moving there.
Will eventually be our winter place when we retire.

Will try to post progress as we get it.

I wouldn't know a thing about condos. My first impression being from cartoons that is all a scam. (Obviously not the rule)

Everything looks pretty nice man. Not sure about the brick wall in the bedroom? Might be a hawaii thing.
Id go there for vacation with a loved one.
With bookings going this well.. how long until you start making profit? Are we talking years?
Edit:
Might of found a mistake. Not sure if its a canadian thing.

Sht, meant to change that. I saw it a few days earlier.
The brick, yeah, Hawaii thing. Outside walls and every other one dividing units has them. Those didn't get covered with cement board. I'll fix that all up some summer.
Profit wise....don't know out break even amount yet. It's just under $3k total per month, so, if it rents every day for a month @ $100 / night, we're good.
That won't happen regularly though...and we want it to lose slightly or break even, for tax reasons.
