I just bought a new LED IPS monitor which is amazing. But I can not seem to get the right settings with it. Too bright, too fuzzy, too dark, too sharp and so on and so fourth.
Well, I seem to have nailed everything down in the last two hours but the screen seems to have two problems left.
1- Screen uses a thin, small font on some websites.
2- Screen has two big empty spaces on both sides of web sites. The empty space is filled with the background image. On LA it looks kick ass, on Youtube it looks retarded as most of it becomes white empty space. The best res is 1280 x 1024 so far but it does not help a lot.
What should I do now? Anyone knows what is wrong? The 2nd point is pissing me off to no end as most sites look retarded. Do people with big monitors browse the internet like this?
I miss my 90’s monitor already

Any chance you downloaded the drivers for it? Some do need it.
Also, have you messed around with you PC's monitor resolution settings?
Screenshots too if you have any.

Most websites will have big empty spaces on the sides... if you use a big monitor. Everything will appear smaller.goh13 wrote:I just bought a new LED IPS monitor which is amazing. I just did. I guess I was used to my old CRT size since 2007.Syndrome wrote:Most websites will have big empty spaces on the sides... if you use a big monitor. Everything will appear smaller.goh13 wrote:*snip*

@homescrub: Thanks! I will try to see if there is any drivers for it. I played around with every setting and tried to play with the resolution. Some are too big and others too small. 1280 x 1024 is the sweet spot. It is a small screen, mind you. 21.5 Inches.

Yeah. I designed LA's main content to fit 1000px (so any res 1024 and up will be fine).
