Okay gents and lady lets hear those first impressions. The good, the bad and the ugly.
When this comes out for PC hopefully it will have single player so I can give you my FI on it.

The Campaign (Which is sort of single player.. but linked to coop with strangers if your friends are not playing it).. is outstanding.
Think of this game as a PVE MMO and you will love it. You can always venture into the PVP aspect.. but you really never have to.
Amazing game. Loved the Beta.. and ma loving it all over Again.

So it is like on Borderlands 2 where you can turn on vs mode and if someone hits you you fight it out but with it off if someone hits you it does nothing?

Its a bit more linear than a normal MMO.
There are missions to play that you choose (You dont just run about.. unless you choose the open world run about mission).
And aside from these missions (which vary a lot) there are the PVP choices as well. PVP is called "The Crucible".

Still don't get it. So like if you are walking around minding your own and exploring then the only things that come after you are the bots or in game baddies, not other players?
Sounds a lot like Borderlands.

you share the space with other players, but you're all off on your own missions within the world you're on
there's a hub point called "the tower", that's where you go to go into PvP mode

Ahh. So basically it is your story your way or the way you want to play it? Like one of those old choose your own adventure books. That sounds fun. So while sharing space with other players do you ever run into them? Like can they join you on a quest? OR can you just go lone wolf the entire time?

you'll run into people all the time...some just wandering, others doing other stuff, and yet others who can help you on your own mission (because they're doing the same thing)

Its a bit more linear than that too, just thinking of playing a MMO.
But yea you can ask random players to join your fireteam, essentially pulling them into your mission you are on.

You can get a PS3 for a couple hundred cheaper. Plus, it has free online play. Just sayin.

I completed the prologue bit and ended up at the city hub. As soon as I get off 5 guys decided to run up and dance all over me for a good minute. I joined in.

Playing Very Hard on a mission on the Moon with Just Natas and I level 6.. was tough as balls. Voice is gone after all that mass communication!

Do enemies drop cooler shit in the tougher difficulties?

So ranking up is too fast or what? Is that a detriment to the games re-playability, longevity or fun factor?

I play on "normal" and I picked up an auto rifle that does 91 damage.....thing shreds, so no, I don't think the higher difficulties are the only way to get cool stuff
My first impressions: missions are a complete time suck, in a wonderful way....before you know it, you've been playing for hours. The crucible, on the other hand, is a different story. I didn't care for the fact that we could only play "control" and that shotguns seem to be incredibly OP. To be fair, I've only played two Halo MP games (stylistically similar), so it's a foreign environment for me. First two games were terrible, went positive by the third game. Don't get me wrong, I like the MP so far, but I'd love to try out different modes and I need more time to get used to the style (plus, ps3 controls are a bit more sluggish than ps4). The Titan's special ability, in MP, is devastatingly powerful, I do not regret my choice in character whatsoever

See the thing is I buy games based on their level of introversion. The less interaction I have with PVP MP the more I like the game. I don't mind co-op it can be fun as long as it is not the meat of the game. If I need someone else to help me do something in order to move forward in a game then I most likely will not buy that game.
I am a loner, I do better on my own and have more fun by myself adventuring, discovering and finding excitement in games and in real life.

I'm a bit like you in that I love a good campaign that I can do on my own. From what I can tell, you can get through the campaign on your own and, sometimes, you'll end up with people fighting with you regardless, just because they're in the same area already. You're never "really" alone, but you're also not forced to talk to anyone. The world is alive and you're all shooting at the same enemies. Having a fire team makes it a little easier to get stuff done, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary.
I love the campaign, it's going to take some time to get the character to a truly powerful level
The MP is secondary for me, very secondary, but fun when you've got a group.

Sweet, thanks for the reply. On another site I am on some people are already lvl 8 - 13 and have seen some level 20, IIRC.
EDIT: I looked up what they said and it was a level 22 on crucible. If that makes any sense.
