Came home today and found this in the foyer. Was just chillin in the sun at the bottom of the stairs. Pushed it outside and shot it, was about 3.5 feet long. In most cases I have a live and let live policy for Rattlesnakes, however when they start to invade my home or even get near my house the kid gloves come off.

It was definitely a surprise. I have had Tarantulas, lizards and other snakes wander in, I even had a Raccoon wander in but never a Rattlesnake. He/she was not in a friendly mood either. I heard this noise that sounded like a faucet and was looking around and then there it was, shaking its little rattles.
I have sliding glass walls that open up sections of the house, can only think it got through that way.

Why don't you have a kill on site policy?
Around here, it's swerve in the other lane to hit it, stop your car, back up and make sure you hit it again policy. While hunting is fk how much noise you make and what sees you, keep shooting until it's nerves stop twitching.

Even Rattlesnakes. We hunter in central Mississippi and there are a bunch there. Walk up on that in the middle of a hunt and scream.

It's especially terrifying sitting in a turkey blind and have one slither on in. Pull out the sidearm, close eyes, scream and shoot. Wipe ass back as Jeep.

sliding glass walls....
I hack copperheads up once or twice a year. There are rattlesnakes in my area in Maryland but I've never seen nor heard one.
