"Manning has to win another Superbowl"

#56271To cement his legacy people are retarded.. sorry. I read this earlier "Yes, the Denver Broncos' loss to the Baltimore Ravens last season was another playoff defeat in which Manning, seen as a heavy favorite, was bested by a team thought to be inferior."
Manning was bested by the Ravens? Peyton Manning threw a TD with :50 left to take a 35-28 lead... and his D gives up a bomb..
Then his team almost choked it away again this year. Manning should have had 4 TD's and 0 INT and should have lambasted the Chargers. However, WRs couldn't catch or hang on to the ball.

He did throw a big INT last year in the Ravens game, didn't he?
I disagree with you though. He does have to win another ring. If he doesn't he'll just be remembered as one of the greats, but not THE greatest. He may be the best regular season QB, but you can't disregard his playoff record.

Yes he does. When it comes to the postseason, he's choked. Rings > Records

Dan Marino never got a ring. He is one of the best QBs of all time. In the NFL rings are not as big of a measurement. His Legacy is already set. Manning could of retired the year he hurt his neck, and his legacy was and is set.
EDIT:
The difference between 1 and 2 rings in nill. Its when you have 3+ that really separates the players. Really its what separates the Dynasties.

You are right about Marino. But the great QBs who also have the rings are what separates them from QBs like Marino. And c'mon, no difference between 1 and 2 rings? There obviously is one.

Ik0n wrote:So.... Eli is better than Peyton? LOL By the way, Peyton has a better passer rating than Brady all-time in the playoffs.. jus' sayin. Exactly what Syn said about Dan Marino.. Superbowls are all about team.. not just one player.
Eli is not better than Peyton. I never said the amount of rings automatically qualifies you to be a great QB, i.e Trent Dilfer. Peyton has just choked many times in the playoffs. Are you saying that Manning has NOTHING to lose if he loses Sunday/in the Super Bowl? This could (potentially) be his last year, and his 2nd ring could much further his legacy.

Thats exactly what im saying. If he went on to win 3 more rings over the next 4-5 years.. then it would mean something. 1 more ring doesnt further his legacy in my opinion. He already is one of the greatest of all time.
Like Ik0n said, Rings are more about TEAMS. Especially in the NFL where it takes a team to win. Not like the NBA where it takes 1 dominant player.
When you think back on all the QB's with multiple rings, you think of the Franchise they were apart of. Not of their singular success. Joe Montana could be one of the greatest post season qbs ever. But when you remember back on it, you say the 49ers of the 80's and 90's.

You're 12, you don't know what hot is
And being a fan of the worst teams in pro sports, you have no concept of reality
(Philadelphia teams excluded, obviously)

I almost literally get an erection when a boston team gets kicked out of the playoffs (except the bruins, I don't mind them winning)
