Connection vs. Terrible Players

Okay. I've noticed how we all chalk up good scores to a "good" connection. Not necessarily based solely on the connection, but it definitely aids in helping a score look good.
But have you ever thought about how TERRIBLE a player is that you are facing? You might see the lobby stacked with 1 KD players. That could mean they barely know how to hold a controller but every now and then they square off against each other. We all know how popular COD is, and how many more players are getting into it.
I've seen lobbies where I die from a guy who can barely hold his controller the right way. You know the guy.. standing still, crosshairs are slowly tracking you.. and you manage to squeak into them at the last second. They miraculously pull of a bullet or 2 on you. If anyone remembers Stryker - Im talking about him.
There have been lobbies where we all just completely SMASH. Obviously first couple players scores are a little higher but everyone elses are around 13-2. You cant put that kind of thing happening all on connection.
I was rewatching my music mayhem video, and noticed some things. Those were NOT good players. As much as Natas raged, he still did well. They had 2 players that went a combined 2-22. Those players were NOT good lol.
The combination of NOT good players and connection are what makes some of us go 23-2 etc. Good connection v good players usually puts us at around 15-7. bad connections v bad players lets us slightly more than break even - think 15-12. bad connections v good players is when we go negative 10-15, 5-12 etc. The more of a certain type of player (good or bad) will tip the scale in the other direction more so. For instance.. bad connection v 4 good players 9-15. bad connection v 3 good players 11-14. good connection v 3 bad players 17-4. If you understand my logic and the example numbers I am using. Thats my guess.

good games can come down to a number of things:
1. skill (lol..it's COD)
2. connection
3. bad players
4. connection + bad players
if you have a consistent connection, it makes doing well against anyone a much greater possibility

it's not the connections, its the giant ass hitboxes. I'm a career 18% accuracy cod player and in this game it's up near 21%, coupled with the decrease in health and increase in bullet damage you get kids doing a lot better in this game than previous cods.

I didnt really think about it. Im the same Smoke. Career 19% accuracy. This game I'm sitting at 23%. And thats without using shotguns. Usually shotguns are what tips the accuracy up. Without shotguns included in old cod's im probably like a 16% accuracy lol.
Although, it doesnt help that in old games id randomly spray an entire clip of a gun in any direction (like through walls) for the fun of it. lol.

Was thinking about what goes into Skill. Besides the ability to aim and shoot at people. Knowing the maps, is probably the most important skill. If you can work a flow to a map, and know enemy spawns.. chances are you will have a higher success rate. This game has made it really difficult to understand enemy spawns... because they seem so all over the place. But once you get a grasp on where the enemy is... and where they are going, you can use chokepoints to get kills.Chisa wrote:good games can come down to a number of things:

How many of you put yourselves in situations where you are faced off 1v1 with another player while you are completely exposed and they are mounted behind cover?
The only time I get myself into a face off 1v1 with an enemy (while im completely exposed) is when they are exposed as well. We will both be on our way to SOMEWHERE.
Every once in awhile, I die to people I dont see as im completely exposed.
Setting yourself up to win gun battles... is skill.

most of the COD community sits in corners and sets themselves up looking out a window, or over a crate
that's not skill
