Only problem is you take to them like family, and you know life expectancy is short. Didn't want to deal with that again.
I've had two labs. Champ died when he was 6 from heart worms and CJ died from cancer at 11. I thought 6 was bad, but I was 22 when CJ died and I cried like a baby.

Every time a pet has died, I cried like a baby. It's brutal. The years of happiness are worth it

I'd love a dog. Got a cat instead. Biggest fag ever. A bird got in the conservatory once. Found the cat hid behind the sofa

Cool.
As a gigantic dog lover, I love them so much I would never own one.

That loss. YOu know its coming 5-15 yrs of their life. And we get attached anyways.
Only been like that with dogs.
Squirrels, rabbits, ducks, chickens, cats, ferrets, iguanas, turtles, hamsters, parrots.. not as attached to any of them.

Totally agree, cats do it to me too. I remember when my moms horse died ( Iwas riding horses before I could walk and were a huuuuuge part of my life during the elementary years) I couldn't walk into the barn for years.
Even my salt water system that I had back in the day, when it got diseased I never responded like how I did when me doggies died. And between the filtertration, lights, corals, fish... I had close to 15k in that thing, still never got emotional over it.
Just something about dogs... love em but not worth it.
Squirrels are great targets... you ever seen what a .45 does to one lol

I been trying to catch a baby squirrel for a while. Gonna search again this spring after breeding season. They are 1 of the funnest pets with crazy personality.
And the money doesn't bring you closer. Just like your fish tank, I had $5K in the 2 African Greys and cages. Gave them away and haven't called or stopped by to visit since.

My neighbor has 2 raccoons as pets. Totally house trained and everything. Soooo weird when I go over there and they end up falling asleep on your lap.
How are you planning on catching a baby squirrel?

Nest shaking, and tree climbing. Take em in while they're growing hair and sucking milk. I don't want a independent one, those suckers get mean, fast.

Soooo, my cousin calls today out the blue and ask if I know any Doberman breeders because he's looking for a puppy. Thought he was playing games. Nope, he's been looking all over.
We found 2 different breeders. 2 hour & 4 hour distance. I'm calling tomorrow to grab the last male from 1 breeder and he's calling to get one of the 6 females from other person. Stud service to come.
Smoke is freaking Nostradamus
