This is probably the only Sony conference in my memory that hasn't had a major problem. Sony completely changed their normal style information wise for this and they nailed it. They even managed to surprise us with just how much function Gaikai will have.
One of the best things is the ability to pick up instantly from when you last turned off the console. That kind of instant access is clearly a response to the speed of smart-phone gaming and it sounds like it will work so well!

Another huge thing for me was the ability they said they'll have to stream ps1/2/3 games through gaikai onto your ps4. Would love to play old classics on it.

The Dualshock 4 has a built in speaker and headphone jack. Every system will be bundled with a simple mono headset. Good for basic social functionality. Core gamers will of course stick to their stereo or surround headsets.
Here is the official statement: "In addition, DUALSHOCK®4 will come with a built-in speaker and stereo headset jack, enabling PS4 users to enjoy high-fidelity sound effects of games from both the TV and also from the controller. Combined with the Mono Headset that will be bundled with PS4, gamers will also be able to chat with friends playing online, while hearing sound effects from the controller in hand."
Specs: (stuff in parenthesis is my commentary)
Main Processor
Single-chip custom processor
CPU : x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores (will probably be clocked low to keep heat and power draw down. Goes right along with the transition to more threaded applications rather than raw clock rate. Gonna be a beast)
GPU : 1.84 TFLOPS, AMD next-generation Radeon™ based (Probably based on the HD7850)
graphics engine
Memory
GDDR5 8GB (Very fast, enough bandwidth to feed the beast, which is something that chocked the 360 and PS3)
Hard Disk Drive
Built-in
Optical Drive
(read only)
BD 6xCAV (BluRay confirmed and its faster than the slow 2x drive in the PS3! Look for Sony to really push digital releases though, and try to minimize physical media. Expect all games to be Day 1 Digital like on Vita)
DVD 8xCAV
I/O
Super-Speed USB (USB 3.0) 、AUX
Communication
Ethernet (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T)
IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth® 2.1 (EDR)
AV output
HDMI
Analog-AV out
Digital Output (optical)
*Specifications are subject to change without notice.
Sony is being very open. It's nice.

Gonna wait at least a year or two before buying mine. Lower prices, fixed bugs and more games is and always will be better than a day 1 purchase. So, maybe in the late 2014 early 2015 I will get mine. Unless the prices go down faster than before.

Haven't been able to view any videos cause of the shit Wi-Fi but have been bombarded with cool info and screenshots. I'm excited, looks sweet. Like the look of that Watch Dogs game too. Can't wait to see Naughty Dog's next Uncharted for this.

The light changes color It's a more friendly way to recognize player counts than the boring tiny LED's like on the PS3 controller lollilaclegend wrote:i like the look of the controller a lot better now. i love the blue light, and yes the triggers look good. looks like a much more comfortable and ergonomic controller! and lots more sturdy

All I could find of the stream was a 480p version, which makes the whole thing pointless to watch as it looks like it was recorded with a potato.

-On possibility of PS4 blocking used games
Shuhei Yoshida: When you purchase the disc-based games on PS4, it should work on any hardware. So that's what I'm saying.
So we can buy used games! **** yeah!
-On whether or not PSN will remain free for PS4
Shuhei Yoshida: We totally believe that we want to provide more functionality and more services and more content on the network. And so we are looking at how we are going to structure that. And we are not ready to talk about that.
****.....no? Hope they keep it free otherwise what is the point?

He has a point..
Look at the previews they showed for the Ps3.. Resistance? That game looked pretty bad (graphically).
A lot of the previews they showed for Ps4 looked much better. I dunno, I have high hopes.

Yeah, but just look at them graphically. Wouldn't they want to show something more visually appealing? Idk.

I remember being blown away by Resistance 1 when they showed the aliens in trailers.
Still the best online shooter I have played behind COD4!
