Ok, so, I spent a lot of time on this, and it involved math, so, that means you HAVE to read it.
I went through Zed's (because he gets the big streaks), Syn's (because he's the top of my friends scoreboard) and Alpha's (because....he's Alpha) streaks.
I looked at the frequency of use, and their effectiveness based on what streak they were.
I'll list them by the frequency of their use (and in brackets, how many time the three guys have called them in), and then, like KDR or W/L, I'll provide an effectiveness value, usually, average # of kills per use.
UAV (4867 call-ins): 2.6
Guardian (1578): .31
Lightning (968): 1.73
Sentry (599): 1.82
Hellstorm (574): 1.46
CUAV (354): 3.15
Hunter killer (319): .58
Stealth (119): 3.66
VSAT (89): 5.76
Dragonfire (29): 1.76
Warthog (26): 3.76
VTOL (16): 8.43
Lodestar (10): 10
Death Machine (10): 4.3
K9 Unit (9): 6.1
Looks to me like the Hunter Killer, is a dud. The guardian gets assists, but the stat measures kills. I think it's tough to gauge it's effectiveness by the numbers.
I have to set the VSAT up I think, given that I have the Lightning Strike as my top streak. The VSAT is 4x more effective than the Lightning Strike.
The big winners, are the ones that are really tough to get in the first place, but they seem to pay off.
I'll stick with my UAV, CUAV and Guardian. Add in the VSAT and it looks like a high producing setup.

hmm interesting.
i don't really get high killstreaks so i tend to stick the lower ones.. usually uav cp and cuav/lightning strike.
i used to use guardian but it's so easy to take it out with emps. same goes for sentry gun. but same could be said for the ease it is to take down a uav or cuav.
the most annoying killsteaks to me when used by the opposition has to be the lodestar and k9 unit. it's rare to see them but they get lots of kills.

You added all ours together and whats the number? The amount of kills or assist from streak?
Probably a wide range. Sentry depends on placement, that bitch will get you 7 kills easy. Syn and his Hellstorms will kill you twice with 1 missle, Zcs in the Vtol will stop your kills for 30 seconds.
Was looking through some earlier and it seems the big boys really pay off. 10 kills when the dogs/loadstar/swarm comes in. The lower ones average 1-2 kills if you lucky. Which means they miss sometimes.
Where's the AGR fall?

The game ended if you called one in and nothing happened. Its 100s of Hunter Killers flying like bees and dropping down on the map for 30 seconds.

Wow, good stuff.
I tend to switch between scorestreaks often. I usually run UAV, VSAT, then a big streak (Warthog, VTOL, Lodestar, maybe Dogs). Dunno which to run, but I have been using the Lodestar recently. I would have thought we had got more than 10 Lodestars, guess not. They can be very good if you know the spawns.

Swarm is a ton of Hunter Killer Drones flying around the air dive bombing the enemy.
Guardians and Sentrys may not be effective kill wise - but in HQ they can make a team have to stop and cost them valuable time in getting towards a base.
Also, K9 units are hard to get. Chances are they were acquired at the end of a game and didnt have full time out. I remember one time I had dogs it easily got me 9 kills. Alpha had some same game, and couldnt call his in. lol.

I book marked a Dom game on Raid. Absolute destruction by enemy. There was so much shit in air and dogs on ground that I couldn't spawn in for 30 seconds without dying instantly.
Took 8 lives to shoot down 1 Loadstar out of 2 with Blind Eye.
Went from about 12-10 in 1st round to 18-38 by end of streak raid. They held on to everything until 2nd round.

These were pulled off the game, not elite, so I think the info is more reliable.
The bracket number is the number of call ins....but only from zed, syn and alpha.
I guess for you guys, when you know how often you have those big boys set up, and never get them in, think how effective it is having something smaller that gets called in, not only more frequently in one game, but, over the course of the night.
Miss the VTOL for 12-15 games, get it once. get 10 kills from it. Think of what was produced by a UAV or CUAV setup that got hit all game, all night.

Sentry Gun, with you 3 combined, for example....out of 599 times it was called in, didn't even average 2 kills per call in.

Dont forget about the game first coming out as well. There was a time when we didnt know the good spots for stuff.
Also - how many streaks did we give the enemy by giving them stuff to shoot down? lol. Thats a backwards way of lookin at it.
Sentry's are either a 4-10 kills... or none. Depending if the enemy is smart or not.

Got a good number of AC130s in MW2 and 3, even dogs in BO, but I can't seem to get anything above a Lighting Strike in this. Seems like I always die a kill or two or an objective capture away from a VSAT.

I'd use all six slot perks if I could. Well, I could, but then I'd have to run a primary without any attachments, since six perks and three wildcards would take up nine of the ten points.
I suppose that's one of the nice things about BO2 as opposed to, say, MW2, where SoH / SP / Ninja was pretty much the standard setup and there were only a few deviations.
Maybe I need to look around at some setup suggestions, because I can't just decided on three or four perks and then I end up changing perk setups all the time.

Well, you can think of all of the exceptions and whatnot, but those are the numbers based on the productivity of each of those streaks.
So, it also demonstrates their susceptibility, and success, in an actual game.
So a sentry gun might get seven or 10 kills, but it actually only gets 1.8 something.
Averages tell the whole story.

I mostly use the radar setup. See dots, hide their dots, and MAYBE get red arrows. I'm simply not good enough to get the flying objects of death streaks.

Here's a fun fact, scorestreaks count for 21% of my overall kills.
I'll throw the numbers I've got for the scorestreaks in.
UAV: 650 used, 1989 assists, 3.06
CUAV: 532 used, 2478 assists, 4.66
VSAT: 373 used, 3033 assists, 8.13
EMP: 7 used, 51 assists, 7.29
Sentry Gun: 29 used, 37 kills, 1.29
Hellstorm: 40 used, 51 kills, 1.28
Lightning Strike: 152 used, 198 kills, 1.30
Stealth Chopper: 59 used, 156 kills, 2.64
Escort Drone: 100 used, 329 kills, 3.29
Warthog: 18 used, 69 kills, 3.83
Lodestar: 147 used, 1430 kills, 9.73
VTOL: 23 used, 234 kills, 10.17
Dogs: 31 used, 203 kills, 6.55
Swarm: 65 used, 592 kills, 9.11
So, my advice is that unless you are confident that you can get two of the last 4 streaks each game, then run UAV + CUAV and either another low streak or the VSAT. If you want to rank up quickly use UAV and CUAV too, as the assist points for these will get you a ton of score.

I have a class with Lightweight and Hardline. It is amazing for score streak and huge scores. UAV-HK-CUAV will get you tons of point if you call them at the same time. Swarm becomes 16 kills and many other awesome hardline related effects

Pop on Hardline and a VSAT, once you've got the VSAT you've pretty much got the swarm.

Natas, Blake and myself noticed something last night. When it's just us three, we all have a stable connection. Now seeing as we're all 150 miles from each other, I guess this makes sense. Surprisingly, we rarely end up in PR lobbies.
