Why I won't prestige as much with BO2 as with BO

Anyone else notice an obsessive compulsion to play and rank up while doing routine prestiging? I always felt I had to play, had to score well, had to make XP happen with BO...the only game I really dived into habitual prestiging and playing.
With MW3, I stopped hitting the button a long time ago...back in May maybe.
I felt less of a sense of urgency to play, less anxious if 6 or 12 people were already online and no spaces were available.....no feeling like I was missing out on levelling up because I got online late.
It was a nice feeling, and I can directly attribute it to being satisfied in not having to feel like I had to hit a button faster and faster....
I know we all make resolutions about the new game, but....I'll see if I can continue to just be recreational rather than OCD.

I'm gonna try to get to 10th, like always. It's up to you. I just got bored sitting at the cap when I know I could be ranking up.

Like always, 0/80 is the magic number. Of course, you need to prestige at least once in BO2 to unlock everything. I guess I will have to hit the button this time :p

Although I prestiged all the way Call of Duty 4
In Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops I only prestiged enough to get all Create-A-Class slots.
That means 9th Prestige in MW2 and Black Ops.
I'm a practical man with self-control. Prestige in general is just a gimmick to keep you playing.
Call of Duty's Skinner's box is too tiny for me.

0/80 in MW3 felt so good! I already had all of the extra custom classes by default so there was absolutely no reason to hit the button. IF I get BO2, I'll prestige once I find out if there's anything worth unlocking. Otherwise, I'm going to whore out the best setups this time around instead of trying to level everything up like I did in MW3.

Meh, one sniper class, one AA class, one shotgun class and the rest are up to you. 10 classes is an over-kill, IMO.
I have seen kids pay up to 90 KD, that is 320 USD, for the normal copy of MW3. Why? So they can buy it day one and level up faster then other kids. It is just a number that means nothing. I am still level 80, zero prestige and I have 30+ MOABs and a 56-6 TDM [Solo] match under my belt. I can kick ass no matter what level I am.
Just like age, it is just a ****ing number.
EDIT: It is 58-6 :p

Holy shit!!! If I could get my hands on some early copies of BO2, you and I would be like the Arab/Redneck mafia at $320 per copy LMAO!

Read that again, it is day one in Kuwait. Not an early copy or before release in 3 days. Which just makes it more sad, really :p
Honest work for an honest living. I would smack every kid who is ready to buy it at 320$ on the head though. WTF? It is the normal copy of MW3 FFS! Hell, some stores sell it for 55$ and they just want the shiny, expensive one :p

You're more than welcome to look at my weapon usage brah! I'm pretty proud of myself for using all the weapons pretty equally... except for snipers, only fags and 12 year olds quickscope with snipers LOL!

So what if I use the most powerful perk in the game (SitRep Pro)? Perks don't kill people, guns do and I think I used them all pretty equally. You're as bad as Chisa for hating on SitRep Pro!

To unlock everything, you'll have to prestige, so as soon as I open up everything, I stop

Chisa, once you stopped, did you find you chilled out on the urge to game so often?

0/80 keeps you in easy mode lobbies.
That pic is usage of guns, not changing set ups. Specialist is not using all perks when they identical lol.
These games are getting past my level of IQ in picking classes, might pick up COD2 and work backwards.

Honestly, I don't know. I think after Black Ops and getting to 15/50, my enthusiasm for the grind decreased, especially with how little I enjoy MW3 in general. Then again, you could be right, when I stood at 4/80 for months, I just put the game in and got what I could out of it, instead of dealing with the pressure of constantly leveling up guns/perks etc.

I have to admit, once I clicked the button last weekend, I felt differently.
We played TDM and I was like, "ok, this sucks. I'm only getting 1200 - 1500 per game, rather than 3000+".
My main focus is having a lot of custom class slots. However I can do that, or what ever I need to do to open up at leat 7 or 8, then I'll do that.
But with 10 days logged on MW3, compared to 20 on BO, I can see that there was definately a greater compulsion to play BO than MW3....because it's connections were pretty sht as well.

I definitely need my custom class slots, and I do want to have every possible weapon/attachment available, but after that I don't know how far I'll go. It really depends on how much I like the game. I had SO much more fun with Black Ops than Mw3, I'm hoping BO2 will be similar.

Think I'll prestige all the way, but if they add in extra ones I'm not going past the release day limit.
Also it's been said multiple times that your prestige has nothing to do with the lobbies that you find. Also been mentioned that matchmaking is solely ping based =)
What are you guys going to use your prestige tokens on? (Assuming they come back) Think I'll take the main AA launcher with me first prestige, then classes from there.

if we get tokens again for previous prestiges in games, I'll use them all for custom classes, then use any tokens from current game prestiging to open up weapons...most likely C4 first

Yeah anti-air is pretty important for me. I realize more and more that our grew starts hollering, "oh sht, can someone get that Pavelow?"
No sense having a top guy die while on his way to one of those. I rarely get a 5 streak in this POS game, so I have no problems carrying anti-air, or dying trying to switch classes to set one up.
I'd like to unlock an AA launcher and C4. Such a shame that it unlocks so late in tehse games. No one uses it, even as a late unlock, so why not give it up before some other things?

Yes it does.
1 account non prestiged. Room full of stupids who are legit terrible
1 account prestiged. Room full of stupids who hide because they recognize they are terrible and hide to trick others into thinking they're not.
It even changes match making pairing you with clans depending who in room is lobby host.
