Remember kids, if you preloaded thru steam then you get to play @ 00:01 EST. That would be 9PM for you Western states folk.

So this is awesome sauce.
On launch day -the 17th for me- I stayed up until 0230 and for those of you who know me that is no small thing for me to do. I can tell you that I will never do that again for any video game.
I felt like total crap the next day, that might have had something to do with the 7 twix candy bars and bottle of soda consumed through the gaming period but whatever.
The game is amazing. It is everything I was expecting it to be with the added bonus of having a lot of things I was hoping it would have. There are only a couple of things I do not like. One of those is the new inventory system. I cannot decide whether to call it bulky in a complicated way, convoluted in a simplistic way or just plain confusing. Because while it is not rocket science it sure is not 2+2=4.
The other thing that I am not to sure about -though I have not experienced it yet- is the fact that depending on how you go about things you can essentially block off areas of the map to yourself.
I thought about making some videos of game play for people but I am having too much fun with it to even worry about making a movie. Oh yeah and you can uncap your FPS which is nice for people with better performing PC's and video cards.

And that's not even scratching the surface. The main story of the campaign is 20 - 30 hours long and that is not including side missions. I could have sworn that I posted the info for the game here. I shall have to carry over the links.

Here is some info and videos just for people who might be interested in the game.
If any of you played Borderlands and the DLC you will be happy to know that Borderlands 2 has been announced and that it will be here next year.
The original borderlands IMO was a game made with gamers in mind. There were glitches that were known but never fixed because they added something to the game (General Knox armory glitch), people felt like they were getting away with something and they were. The guns, the characters the monsters all of it had a freshness and appealed to just about any gamers senses. Methodically plodding through each and every mission or pushing through the story as fast as possible you could still be a treasure horder or a skimp player. You screwed up and wanted to put points into a different perk set? You want to gear your character toward a new type of play style? You just paid some in game money and you could reset your stats and start over with your customization. You want to carry more? You want to store more? You pay some cash and you got it. There were some issues and some bugs but for the most part the game was just right.

Character Builder
According to the Gearbox forums, additional functionality will be added next week, including the ability to share character builds with others via direct links and sounds from Borderlands 2's in-game skill trees when distributing points. The ability to right click to remove points will also be added, as players currently have to hit “reset” to start over if they misplace a point.

IF you get it not using steam for PC then it should work. I did that in BL1. Just had four instances of the game running on my PC at the same time.
Won't work this go round though because STEAM will only let you have one instance of the game running at a time.
PS3 and XboX might work but only for two characters in split screen I think.

It looks good. I didn't play the first one tho. Worth playing that before looking at this?

Someone else asked me that and I told them that they could probably get away with playing BL2 and then going retro. But now after playing BL2 I think it might be more fun to play BL1 first. Only because BL2 improves on so much that if you play it first you might not like some of the things in BL1.
Though the first game and all of the DLC kept me going for what seems like 500 hours.

i downloaded this game from steam today.
loved the first one, played it through about 5 times, the second one is even better. they made improvements on many things.
my only character right now is Zero, and it only took me until lvl 9 to get a sniper rifle. they used to give you one right off the bat.

No need for ar's or smg's when you got 3 badass revolvers. This game is one of the best I've played. It's up there with Halo 2 and Gears of War 1.

Holy shit, I hit the jackpot.
Go win the 5 rounds in Fink's Slaughterhouse at The Fridge and he will give you a gun that rains slagged bullets on the enemy. Now, go find those big yellow Crystalisks and shot them with the gun.
****ing money everywhere!
