I'm in it. The feeling of hauling ass from being called into work for emergency sandbagging to telling them fk yall I have to go home. Pushing water down the street with people hollering turn around we're evacuating.
You run in your house and have less than an hour to assess everything you own. Pick up anything you want over 9 ft. Locate all your pictures, paperwork, firearms and start roping boats to anchors by front door for way to get back to road.
I'm not leaving. Watching water creep up inches per hour. Phones haven't worked since yesterday. AT&T turned off towers except for emergency personnel. Posting from my work Jetpack right now standing under carport watching what was a front yard look like a small river.
Happy Birthday.

Sounds terrible. Take the boy and head for higher ground. He is the only important thing. Well besides other loved ones... but we wont discuss them here lol.
Stay safe. Dont let Alligators bite your legs off. And in case of a Sharknado.. do whatever they did in those movies, I never seen em.

He's been at his moms, they're high and safe. Can't get in touch with anyone.
Still here, water is less than 2 ft from destruction, supposed to crest right over a foot more by 7am. Have walked miles up and down current sand bagging neighbors doors and lifting fridges up. Floated a 19 ft aluminum skid and tied to the porch, it'll be our only way out. Still have power and BBQ pit is going.
Trains of out of state rescue people are here with 4x4s and boats getting people out. Thank them much for the support. It's almost dark now and fk getting back in this river water. River monsters have to be in it looking for safety.
We are 3 men left behind with houses all sleeping in the highest one. in typical LA style, armed like it's COD. Ain't be no looting round hur.

Guess some power thought I had too much stuff.
We stayed until Tuesday, mine was the last one to take water in. Called for boat rescue to come get us.
Moved back to parents until we figure out what to do. Saved the PS3s lol

Hopefully not too much damage was done. I dont know how they build houses in the south... I assume to prepare for these things? Maybe some new flooring and a bit of wall work. Hopefully not too much new furniture? I dont know. Actually have no idea. Fill us in, keep us in the loop.
Stay safe... material things can be replaced!

Because they're all in the front yard in trash pile. I'll try to upload a video later of our road.

No brother man, we're ok. Staying at the parents and have the essentials. Thank you
This is the road next to mine, 3-7ft of water went through us over 2 days then sat for 2 more. Smells like fish asshole everywhere.

1. is it mandatory to own a pickup truck down there, because every single house has one out front
2. what's all that bumping around in the back of your truck, is someone tied up?
looks really nice down there, sorry you're all having to deal with this

Work van. I don't even hear that noise anymore, about 1 brazillian loose screws on metal bins. And driving on road divider because crap was in lane.
I've been working less than 2 miles from my house every day. Haven't even made it to the big subdivision areas. They say it looks like a war zone, every single house gutted back to the studs.

It's not sunk in yet. Have been at work since and insurance still hasn't came to check it out. It'll hit when they lowball the fk out of me. Maybe he won't notice the rifles/shotguns layed on counters and .45 strapped to my side when he shows up. Looters not taken kindly to.
Funny you mentioned something about pick up trucks. Part of life, would have never noticed them otherwise. Men drive trucks, guys drive anything else.

it's easy to notice, because in the city, it's difficult to park a pickup truck anywhere...all the pickups come in from the suburbs

With so much outdoor activity, you have to have one. Pulling boats, campers, 4 wheelers, having to drive through mud or high water more often than you should. I guess some of the hauling could be done with a smaller vehicle and a trailer but then you're taking up more space.

Oh shit, Chisas right. Hella pickups lol. I'll hopefully be getting one soon, so I can do bigger side jobs, and pull a boat sooner or later.
Pretty amazing, actually seeing the aftermath. I can't even imagine how that's gotta feel. Is looting actually a problem, or are you just covering your bases? I guess there are shitty enough people that it's a possibility, but man, that's the lowest of the low.
