Must be nice no one ever bored anymore
So in my life counting little league, grade school, co-ed, pick up games; I've played 0 soccer games. Kicked the ball around but never in a game setting. I am now the coach of the boys U12 Bruisers lol
They asking me questions and what position to go to and they aren't understanding IDfnKnow, over there ---> on the side, behind the other guy but in front the one with gloves on in the goal.

lol
I'm too busy to be bored. Between work, lifting, BJJ, and a graduate class, I've got zero time for boredom.
Went to Miami two weeks ago, was f**king epic. Love that city.
Good luck coaching, I'd rather punch myself in the nuts than watch children play sports

Practice is lots of whining and head shaking.

I coach track and field (high jump), badminton, and volleyball. Start of the season is frustrating, but, its fcking awesome seeing the progression. It happens at a ridiculous pace. It's like watching older versions of your kids pick sht up from being taught, or because they just plain figured it out. It's pretty sweet...seeing kids progress at things, and start to master things that most adults would fumble around at, like retards.

mmmm volleyball shorts
2nd mmmm for stressing point
The kids latch on to you like no one pays them attention. You can start picking on them in the 1st 20 minutes. Had them doing push ups last night for goofing off.

#68821So just got ejected from my first game as a coach.
We had the winning run in bottom of the 7th inning and our kid slides into home for the winning run... he gets called out and ejected for 'running into the catcher'. I lost my shit.. lol Never in my life of watching/playing baseball have I seen someone ejected for SLIDING feet first into home.

Feet 1st is a no brainer on the stupid ump. Only if, big if, he jumped and both his feet came off the ground before he slid making it a kick attempt.
What age group and are the cleats spiked?

#68824It's 14u and it's metal cleats. Catcher was fine, no injuries. Ump was saying he 'didn't attempt to get out of catchers way' lmao. We're Schenectady though and umps have always disliked Schenectady (it's the 'ghetto') in upstate NY.
Umps also told us we needed to 'cut out the chatter' when we were up to bat, basically telling our kids not to cheer for their teammates. Also tried to call a infield fly rule with a runner on 2nd, no one out... lol

Sounds not knowledgeable in the rulings. Runner 1st and 2nd, less than 2 outs. There is a very crappy debatable arguement to that rule.
If your infielder makes it to outfield to catch a fly ball and makes an attempt to catch it while facing home plate, it's still considered infield fly because of who played it. Stupid as hell and not many know the ruling. He can call off the outfielder and get the batter out.

There are a bunch of sneaky rulings that umps really need to read deep to catch
You can't fake a tag to a runner stealing 2nd if the ball isn't even thrown to you. Found that out hard way, bc even on pass balls I'd run to bag and swipe a fake tag to make him slide. (played short stop majority of career)
You can square to bunt and if your bat doesn't break the plane of plate, you do not have to move the bat for it to be counted as a Ball. So if you square up and the pitch is wide out. If you don't move an inch and do not attempt to bunt ball, it's still a ball with your bat out... as long as it's behind the half way.
