Little cunt came out under a gate out of nowhere. Straight for my dogs throat. Took 3 grown men to get it off. She's at the vets overnight but should be ok, no vains or arteries were hit very lucky. ****ing adrenaline is just wearing off now. **** sake. Sorry had to vent.
She's lucky to be alive.

Can't until the police arrive for a statement mate. The thing was relentless. Me and my dad were kicking it then I lifted up my dog Molly and this thing was still clamped on her throat. Thankfully it wasn't too deep because we kicked it as soon as it locked on. Me and my dad were punching it full on in the face, I was poking its eyes and giving it everything. My knuckles all swollen and bruised. Happened so fast. Finally a passer by helped and we got it off. So ****ing angry and shocked but at the same time thankful it wasn't much worse.

in a case like this, are you hoping for the other dog to be put down, or for the owners to pay for the vet bills?

Both. The dogs a danger to everyone and it slipped under 2 garden gates to get a go at her. Completely unprovoked, no sniffing or anything just completely sprinted and lunged at the jugular. It was on my street in the middle of the school run, lots of witnesses and screaming children.

Crazy man. Worst thing when your dog gets hurt. Glad to hear everything is working out. Calming down from it all is going to be the hardest part for sure.

Glad you're ok.
People talk big about what they would do to a dog if it attacks. You don't realize the power they possess until you're prying one off of something or yourself. Those kids/old people vs pitbull stories are horrible. Bred killing machine vs defenseless person is nothing more than a mauling.

I hate those dogs. They've been bred purely for fighting and some people think that's the perfect dog to have in their home.
Some people are just stupid and it's horrible that more often than not it's someone else who has to pay for their stupidity.
I've had huskies in my home all my life and none of them have ever bitten any of us. That's with 5 kids in the house.
Glad you're OK Kerz, and dog too. I've never been as sad in my life when my dog died, and that was when he died of old age and went peacefully - can't imagine what you're feeling.

Thanks lads. Yeah it happened so fast that pure instinct just took over and I tried everything to get it off. Even tried putting my fist between my dog throat and it's mouth to get it off. Honestly could not believe the strength of this thing, it's jaw completely locked and if I was on my own there's no way in hell I'd have managed to save my dog.
It's the dogs first 'offence' so I don't think it will get put down btw. Police said that when they came up.

I'm pretty sure its all about how the dog is raised. Raised properly and "Killing machine" breeds.. Can be fluffy tickle buddies.

You say that, but you hear stories all the time about how these dogs are fine and have never bitten anything. And then this dog is the reason for an infants death, it's just snapped for whatever reason.
I see your point, but why run that risk?

I had a German Shepherd / Husky mix.. and before we got her, we heard all sorts of stories about them kind of dogs being violent. They are what the Police use in there K9 units. And I can tell you.. my dog would never have hurt anyone.. let alone an infant. I would bet my life 10x over on it.
Certain dogs are known to be more aggressive, but if you train them early on and you do it right.. you run no risk.
Ask Alpha, he has a dog right now that are known to be aggressive. I can tell just from 1 thread he is raising him right (Kane is a he right? lol).
All in all to not get sidetracked.. Some dogs are put on a chain and are behind multiple gates for a reason (Although doesnt sound like it was chained).

Used to be a he. kinda missing balls now
But they have to be around people and socialize outside of the home. The worse dogs we come across are permanently chained to an object and just fed, sometimes watered.

How is your puppy doing today?
Be grateful that you have a westie one of the tougher smaller breed dogs out there. They are like a f*cking badger.

Better walks, she's home now. She's gotta drain tube in her throat where the wound is and stitches too. The drain is coming out tomorrow so it looks worse than it is at the moment which is good.
She is definitely a scrappy wee thing lol been in a few scuffles now but yesterday was something else. Very thankful she's gonna be ok. Tough little bitch

I will shoot one if it ever attacks a family member or me. Have a neighbor that has a few dogs, it usually barks but never showed much aggression. I was weedeating the yard and the dog was barking. Had my back to fence weedeating a tree and I thought I heard a snap, I turn around and he was jumping throwing bites. He was close to getting me too.
He has been loose a few times and has ran up on my sister barking.

The Wounded warrior rests lol. The white thing just under her ear is the drain that's coming out tomorrow. So, So lucky no veins or arteries were hit though.

Just heard a story on radio about another staffie attacking a ladies terrier so she shoved her finger up the dogs ass to stop it from biting.
Didn't watch clips on this site, was radio version.

Didn't watch but I've heard that before. Unless you are trained, ridiculously composed or have been in the situation before then it's all bravado. Most people I've told have said "shoulda done this, shoulda done that". It's just pure instinct when it happens. Thankfully I did enough to keep my dog alive.
I hate staffie dogs now though.
