Let's talk about what you're going for, either PRs, weight loss, specific growth
for me, after starting at 240, I'm at 195, looking to get down to 185. At 185, I think I'd have a fantastic advantage of strength over the other BJJ guys in my gym at that weight. As of right now, I tend to still roll with most of the guys who are 200+ (and I enjoy that, it works me to death), but when it comes to competition time, 185 would be perfect for me. Of course, the only part of my body with any sort of substantial body fat, is my mid section. The most difficult part. lol
This means, I have to get a bit more strict on my diet, and really commit myself to doing some outside cardio, mostly sprints since it would help me on the mats anyway.

1st off. man fk cardio in the summer. Unless you got a long pool to do speed laps.
You don't have to do any weight cutting to compete? Don't see you draining to drop to a 175 class for a local tourney.

Height: 5'8
Unreasonable goals: 185 lbs under 12% bf
Likely 175lbs 15%
Realistically attainable 170lbs at 14% lol
Hard gainer, eat n eat to hold no extra mass except when it all catches up and belly grows. Ruthless cycle. Would like to pack a good solid 5-10 more lbs and that would be as much as I could hold comfortably without living in the fridge and gym.

I'm not cutting ever, just want to walk around at 185.....got a mid section, but legs and ass are built super muscular, without having to do much more than basic exercises

If you really get into a gym life, people give you the stupidest look when they end every single invite with and we can get shitty and you say I'll go but not drinking.
Have lost about 95% desire to consume alcohol. Randomly on weekend for a big fight I'll grab something cold but never finish a 6-pak. Other than that, there's no alcohol in the house anymore.

I'm down to one drink a night, which is really a double, but gone are the nights of stumbling home drunk
Except for the once a month gaming nights. Lol

To be tan.
But realistically have more endurance. I get tired doing anything too fast. I dont exercise, so that could be my problem. I'll go sit in a corner now... emphasis on the sit part.

Staple mark for end results
Current 178 lbs
Average weight use for main grouping (not max, just my 5-10 rep)
Bench: Plate +35
Squat: No gains expected, I don't do more than 2 plates without a spot & home alone
Deadlifts: 2 plates + 25
V grip Pull ups: 10, 8, 6
Curl: 40 lb dumbells
Dumbell bench: 75 lb is biggest I have, hitting 12, 10, 8
Most exercises I keep a steady by the book form and squeeze peak points, not lifting for numbers.
Not expecting to put on 10 lbs b/c the diet over next 30 days will be on point, doubling water intake.

current
weight: 207
bench: 295 max, 225x12
standing overhead press: 175 max
leg press: 5 plates per side x 10
deadlift: 315x4
bent over barbell rows: 185x12
goal
weight: 215
bench: 315 max
OHP: 205 max
leg press: dont really care
deadlift: 405 max
barbell rows: 205x12
i have no idea on the time frame. 6 months maybe. probably longer because its pretty hard to make strength gains in all your lifts at once.

Need to look up forms on lowering OHPress. That's hard as shit to do alone outside a cage. it's hell on shoulders trying to lower it.

Not as much an Overhead Press but a Push Jerk. The press with the leg thrust, so you're pushing much more weight but it's painful in shoulders lowering that amount of weight back down.

Push jerks are supposed to be an explosive movement. At the same time as you slam your feet down from the little tiny hop the bar should be over your head. The bar should actually press up with such force against your fingers so that if your hand was not closed around it it would leave your hand. And you should be only able to get 5 - 7 reps before you run out of explosiveness.
In this video Erin Stern is doing speed Jerks but it is the same concept with the bar.
Sounds like you are using too much weight. Trust me. Lower the weight and try it out for a month you will see a vast improvement in your 2B's or explosive movement.
Keep that heavy stuff for your overhead press.
Also how many of you tighten and hold your core while lifting? It will actually stabilize you a lot better and really shows you if you have been lifting too much as it forces you to lift with proper form and cuts the weight you can lift by 10 - 30 percent.

i just bought a weight belt for that exact purpose. a lot of people think belting up is for safety and to prevent injury, but belts are actually to solidify your core and let you lift more weight.

Apparently I'm just being a pansy on leg day. Put weight on today to set a marker if they grow by default.
Did 10 of 2 Plates like a warm up
added 25s, did 10
added 35s, did 5 racked before burnouts
put 3 plates and did 2 with about 85% effort, could have gotten 4-5 reps
