Gaming Not As Fun? Maybe It's Me.

Gaming is not as fun as it used to be or rather gaming does not invoke that giddy uninhibited joy it used to bring me when I would sit down to play.
I have noticed that as I have gotten older my gaming time has gotten more minimal. Where I used to relish the thought of a gaming marathon with friends, sequestered away after having collected supplies and spending countless hours until my butt fell asleep, now the thought does not even make it past the formulation stage.
I would jump at the chance to stay up all night and game. I would spend hours trying and retrying new ways to play or finding all collectables. Even went so far as to play Oblivion right next to five other people who were playing oblivion even though we were not able to play together multi-player, it was just the fact it was fun.
Now though not even my favorite franchise could make me pull an all niter. I remember right before Borderlands 2 came out there were four of us that made a pact to stay up the entire night playing the game. I made it until midnight I think and then said I had to go.
I don't know the thought of spending several to more than several hours seated in front of the computer playing video games just does not have the draw or appeal it used to. I am sure in some way the decline and ruination of COD has had no minor part in it but I think it goes beyond that really. I think it goes to a level deeper than my conscious thought of playing, like my body and mind are acting together without my input and refusing to let me play video games for hours on end. I want to play I get a little excited about playing but then once I get to a point where I can play the feelings are gone and I usually end up doing something else instead.
I would rather go play laser tag or paintball. I would rather go to the gym or go running. I would rather go climbing or hiking and motorcycle riding. Or simply I would rather sleep.
I think if it gets any worse I won't be playing games at all.
Or maybe it could be that I have had too much free time on my hands and that I need something to keep me occupied so that gaming looks more appetizing, like a reward instead of the norm of anytime I feel like it.

BAM! Get that woman a cookie ..... pan, so she can make us cookies!
Not sure if it was age and losing patience or getting completely fed up with the large abundance of stereotypical pansy ass couch warriors, but I reached the PNR. In airplane terms, there was no going back.
Plus the changed hyper active lifestyle has spiked energy levels and I can't sit down for an hour. So much more to be doing, once sitting down, will fall asleep.
Buutttt, I will say this. Was in and out the house yestreday working on mower and I came in to "50 thousand people used to live here" and I had war flashbacks of playing. He said dad look what game I found in your room.

Will he ever know that his dad was once the King of COD? An untold legend retired, before his son could see his glory days. I can see it now, 8 years pass pass and your son is playing COD20 and he thinks he is amazing. You tell him, I could beat at your gamebox, playing that call to duty. He says "Yeah sure dad, okay".
He goes into a PVT match and begins to get his behind stomped in. The legend lives.
Anyways, back to topic.
I dont think ive ever been into SUPER long game sessions. Actually checked GTAV the other day, and my longest session on there was 9 hours. Not sure how that happened. lol. The games that make me want to sit down and play.. the GIVE ME MORE!!! kind of games... are story driven coop games. Games I progress through with a buddy. Playing Dead Space 3, or Aliens CM.. just a couple of those games that I just wanted to keep playing. I got probably, my best clip EVER playing Dead Space 3 with Natas.
This (in case you havent watched it.. or if you have, watch it again).. shows just how fun a game gets when you have played it for hours on end. lol.

The fire!!
I watch him play bots. He gets better everytime, never stops moving forward but likes heavy guns. Is good with a shotgun, and will snipe but likes the RSASS sniping style lol. He'll put up 80 kills out of 150 and I wonder if he would whoop my ass, then I'll take it and go 135-2. He watches like a hawk and copy's how I move and spam stuns. But he can't read a radar and never hears silencers shooting nearby.
