What has ever1 been up to?
Been a little turbulent for me [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.], so I took a long vacation and did some reevaluating. Realized I needed to change some things up [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] so I slowed my life down a lot.

I really need to do the same. Take some time away from gaming.
But..
(As if attending an AA meeting).
My name is Eric. And I am a Gamer.
Not too much has changed. Except for the fact no one on here plays games anymore except Natas and I.

Yeah I skipped Ghosts. I still try to get some gaming in when I can but it is usually DayZ.

Im on the verge of really getting into DayZ. Natas just got a new PC that can run it. Do you prefer the SA or the Mod? Im kind of back and forth on which to go forward on.
And we were not really sure on Servers. The thought of going into a server with other random people (even if its with a group like Dan's (skepy) friends).. is kind of a turn off. Id rather just do the lone survivor thing with Natas and maybe other people from L3.
I know you can Rent Private "Hive" servers for around $20 a month for the DayZ Mod. But meh.
What are your thoughts on the subject?

The COD community killed MPFPS games for me. I wish it was not so but it might have been a blessing in disguise. I played DayZ on open servers and after the initial spawn/die/spawn/die/spawn get some cool toys/die... newness wore off I realized that I had never died from any zeeks. It was always by some crappy player who shot you in the back looking for a quick way to make a few gold, even on hard core limited servers it sucked.
Now I strictly play on PVE (Player vs environment) servers. SWAT has a server that is invite only which serves two main purposes. One you get to know people better and there is an understanding within the server and everyone is friends. Two it keeps the spam of buildings and structures to a minimum. We currently have ~25 people that play on the server. Everyone comes and goes as they please there really is not a play time you just go on when you can and because it is persistent where you left off is where you pick up again.
There are a few people that try to rely heavily on others for support but for the most part people understand that it is a very non forgiving game and that everything you do has consequences good and bad. A fast trip to the store can turn into a five hour journey based on decisions you make.
I would say if you are thinking of renting a server definitely shop around and see what is all included. Also find a few servers to play on that are PVE and see what you like about them.
I really like servers that have missions and AI bandits/survivors/military and civilian militia. Makes it more exciting when you get ambushed and or are out for a little walk and are not sure if the AI is going to shoot you or not.
The stand alone right now has too many problems and that mainly centers around the crappy player base but find a good one where everyone is centered around helping each other survive and killing zeeks and it is a lot of fun. the server I play on is an Epoch version which is really just test gaming for what they want to introduce into the stand alone.
The stand alone is also heavily into upkeep and wear and tear which is really hard to get right. Plus the game has to be playable and not a deterioration game. I want to go shoot zombies and hey I found a good pair of boots too bad my shirt and pants are no good now... you can realism yourself out of a games audience. Too much minor BS and the game stops being fun and turns into a micromanaging time consumer.

I havent really played DayZ in about a year. I was part of the craze when it first hit.
I wasnt aware that there were even AI controlled players. Is that Epoch only? Im so new to this.
What is the difference between epoch and non epoch? lol.

Pretty sure you can have AI controlled players in a non Epoch server.
Epoch is a mod inside a mod. It allows for different things like trading and making money. Which you can then use to buy vehicles and better gear and weapons.

One thing I like about DayZ is you can pretty much play for however long you want and you pick up where you left off. You can play however you want as well. If you want to lone gunman it you can set off and go through a town by yourself. Then an hour or so later if others are on you can join them and do a town raid. You can play support, M249, M60 scoped or not scoped or you can use an AR, SMG or pistol (not sure exactly how many but there is well over 100 different weapons in the game). You can also be a sniper from a distance you just have to watch your back and it is a good idea to have a spotter, who BTW can use a working range finder to mark target interdiction and distance.
It may sound boring but the other weekend I played for a couple of hours and all I did was fish from a boat.
I should also point out that I have been playing a little Borderlands 2 so DayZ is not the only game that has been getting some love.

So..you're back Walk?
Nothing really exciting from me. Been doing more PC gaming than console, despite my shitty laptop. Wish more games were on PS4 (i.e Titanfall).
Outside of that, 3 more months of High School, then choosing a college..

Nothing much for me. Haven't really been gaming lately. Ghosts is just soooooo boring due to the maps, I cant be bothered to play. The game took 1 step forward and 2 steps back from BO2.

Ghosts has been gathering dust since I bought it LOL. Lately I've been playing a lot of GTA5 and I've recently found my zombie addiction again LOL! Everyone hates zombies and Lilac is the only one here that likes GTA5, so I've kind of lost touch with the fellas lately.

I'd rather buy it for PC, instead of buying an entire console for one game
