I'm considering finally picking up a car, and I think this has a great chance to be the one

have not owned a car since I moved here
there is no parking at work (at least, under $250 a month) and mass transit is way more convenient
if i need a car, there's a "car sharing" service that lets me rent cars parked all over the city for hours or days...all done by computer

it's the one benefit of living in a major city with good mass transit, eliminates the need for a car

My next vehicle will be a mustang or a 4x4 truck.
Hopefully they still have the 5.0s in em. They make around 400hp to the crank. Run high 12s stock.
I'm guessing the car will be around 32k.

Over the lifetime of car ownership between myself and my parents, I won't even consider buying domestic.
Import cars cost a bit more initially, but costs of ownership are typically waaay lower, while resale remains much higher than their domestic counterparts.

they don't have dealerships for international cars?
say if you wanted to buy an audi.. you can't just go to an audi dealership?

no, that's called a civilized world. Even this country ass city known as Frederick has ZipCar. It's mostly used by drug dealers around here traveling up and down I95.Alpha wrote:dats nuts. strange world you live in

Can understand in big city where its faster to walk/bike and everything is that close. Unheard of around here. Person without car is a person that is always calling and begging for a ride or for you to do their errands.
Difference in living blocks away and living miles away.

Kaz....Ford has it's shit together. If you remember, they didn't take any bailout money from the Fed and decided to sure itself up on it's own. They're not Chevy and they're certainly not Pontiac from the 80s. Ford is the only company I'd buy from that's domestic.hiph0pan0tamus wrote:no, that's called a civilized world. There's also the fact of the matter that driving a car like that doesn't have to be purely functional for me, since I don't use it to commute to work. I can look for something that'll give me that fun visceral reaction that comes with driving a car that isn't designed for moms and little kids. Plenty of people can go buy a corolla that'll fit their "sensible" lifestyle , I want something else entirely.
Smoke: why you gotta be putting me on blast like that?

Canada makes their own cars? And you do realize that most Hondas in America are built in Canadian factories..Kaz--Money wrote:Over the lifetime of car ownership between myself and my parents, I won't even consider buying domestic.

Only way a man ends up with front wheel drive is if the shaft falls out the 4x4 to back wheels.
