You will never, ever see something like this ever again. Sure, it is pricey but it counts as a special edition. It is so amazing, I can not even put it in the gaming section because it will destroy it. So amazing, you will sell your kids to get it.
Alright, that is enough :p
Saints Row IV Million Dollar Pack costs one Million dollars and includes:
" In addition to the Commander in Chief version of the game, top tier bundle includes a full day of spy training, a trip to space with Virgin Galactic, one year's membership of E25 Super Car Club, and a Lamborghini Gallardo.
The Million Dollar Pack also includes plastic surgery of the purchaser's choice, a shopping spree with a personal shopper, seven nights for two at The Jefferson Hotel in Washington, a "hostage rescue experience," a brand new Toyota Prius, and a seven-night stay at the Top Royal Suite at the Burj-al-arab with flights for two. "

Space > all
You are leaving Earth itself. That must be right there with walking on another planet/moon.

**** space and the space programs, big ass waste of time and money if you ask me. All these private investors should do something more beneficial to all with their billions of dollars.
anyways...

Says the American. You do realize that things used in space [ Chairs, bed, new technologies I can not list, etc ] are modified and introduced to the normal human. Same goes to war, really, but NASA does not kill by the millions and does not waste money in the trillions. Private investors have their own money. They can waste it anyway they see fit.hiph0pan0tamus wrote:**** space and the space programs, big ass waste of time and money if you ask me. And once nothing is left on this Earth, everyone will look up and the planets to get resources. And those who are investing now will be filthy rich. Or filthier rich...
You sound like the grumpy CEO who told his company to forget about the "internet" because it will never catch on or be useful. He could have the biggest monopoly in human history and he fucked it up because he does not believe in baby steps first, profit later.

Facts are, we will never as a human race survive on another planet. Once we kill this one, its over. I'm so sick of hearing "New Planet found 8,000 light years away" or "Rock found under 80 feet of sand found on Mars may suggest life existed 13 billion years ago". Don't get me wrong, space and the cosmos are amazing, but our future doesn't lie in the stars.

Who said we could? I am talking getting resources like water and minerals from another planet and back to Earth.
Our babies are used to Earth’s gravity. Anything more or less will **** them up for life. So life outside of the blue planet is out of the question. The more we know about space, the more we can survive and prevent another "Mars" on Earth catastrophe.

couldn't agree more! i have a huge interest in space and i can often be found stargazing. just recently my 11 year old niece has showed a lot of interest in it, and it has been a great pleasure that i can share it with her.
but truth is.. we need to start saving our own planet and looking for renewable energy sources which can sustain us. and to also help our own race. how many of us live in poverty while the rich continue to **** the rest of us the in the ass.

If we don't try, we will never get there. If it wasn't for the space program, we wouldn't have a lot of the technology that we have now (cell phones etc.). I'd rather spend money on space than war or any of the other bulllshit things our taxes go towards. We will need to leave here at some point, can't pass it off for another generation.moosedawg06 wrote:Facts are, we will never as a human race survive on another planet. Even the possibility of an asteroid impact means we need to be ready with space based defenses. Bruce Willis won't live forever.
Who are we to say it can't be done. In 1900, we didn't have airplanes, but 69 years later, we walked on the moon. That's an unbelievably short time within the expanse of human existence.

yeh i have to agree with this. and the 20th century has been amazing. the amount of technological advancement is mindblowing. if it wasn't for the 'dark ages' who knows where we might be by now?Chisa wrote:If we don't try, we will never get there. if you had told someone living in the 1880s that only 80 years later that man would be walking on the moon they'd have insisted you should check yourself into a mental institute.
and i don't doubt that over the next couple of hundred years we can find the technology to enable us to visit planets such as mars, venus and jupiter.
and people investing in space technology has helped us tremendously. but i would still rather that money be invested in helping our own planet.
we are self-destructing, and i am no enviromentalist.. but the way we are going we will need to find habitation in other planets.

Direct results are not the only thing we can do. Indirect results lead us to new ways of understanding.
Let me say this and you decide, alright?
NASA wants to reach Mars, their fuel does not last for the whole trip. Now, NASA will start thinking of new ways of getting fuel that is also renewable and somewhat easy to use.
Why can’t we take that technology and use it on something else? Planes or trains can always handle the bigger projects if the technology was overly heavy for a car. Or maybe NASA wants to send humans to Mars and they need food that is both small yet, filled with vitamins and protein. I am sure many will like it here on Earth, too.
If we go by your logic, shut down Hollywood and the gaming industry. They are just wasting minerals and money on things we do not need as a community. People lived without them for all our history, surely we can, too.

ok goh. i agree with space exploration and technology. if they can apply that to our own planet than i am all for it.
i am european and i am pretty certain that ESA doesn't spend nowhere near as much as NASA does.
i am not sure how the argument got onto this lol.. like you mentioned; the money spent on space exploration is mostly private investors.. so there really shouldn't be a problem.
