those of you who cook, share your recipes and cooking tips/tricks here.
if you dont have a recipe or anything like that, you can post what you ate today and how wonderful/terrible it was.
i cook a lot at the fire station so i have a bit of experience. i have this homefries dish that we make every day for breakfast. 2 or 3 pounds of potatoes (red or russett) chopped into half inch cubes, pan fried in veggie oil with minced garlic, diced onions and bell peppers. season with salt, pepper, and comino. if you can boil the potatoes before hand, even better.
at home, i make a very simple chicken and rice dish that is healthy and good for meals throughout the day. buy a package of frozen rice and vegetables or even a package of stir fry potatoes and vegetables, steam them in the bag in the microwave. i buy pre cooked rotisserie chickens that they hold hot in the package, then i shred the whole chicken at home, chop it up and throw it in a skillet with the rice and veggies. add a teaspoon of olive oil, some pepper, garlic powder, and a little light soy sauce and youre good to go.

I ran out of chicken the other day so I made a giant omelet for dinner.
6 egg whites and one yolk
Vidalia onions
Roasted red and green peppers
Sautéed mushrooms
It worked out quite well. Seasoned with a little pepper and Lawrys seasoning salt.

Bought 18 eggs, opened fridge and forgot I bought 18 eggs couple days before. Boiled an entire cartoon, peeled, put enough vinegar to just wet the bottom, salt n pepper, shook container. Been snacking those those when bored.

You can actually pop em in the microwave to get em softened a little. Makes the pan frying part go a little quicker.
I either dice into cubes as mentioned or slice into chips (thicker though) and pan fry with seasonings. Good as hell.
Made homemade sloppy joes last night. Good as shit in a pinch with not a lot to work with. Brown beef. Mix in some BBQ, Hot sauce, Ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Diced some onions and mixed. I would of loved to do other stuff with the ground beef, but my cupboards told me otherwise haha.

an easy and relatively healthy dish i enjoy.
heat some oil in a pan, then add some chili, ginger, garlic and finely chopped onions and cook for a couple of minutes.
add some chicken or beef.. diced, sliced, strips of etc, whatever you like most.
cook them together for a while, obviously if it's chicken you need to cook it for longer.
then add some vegetables.. i usually like to use broccoli stems, sliced carrots and some fine green beans.
then you can add pretty much whatever you like to season it. i add some soy sauce, chili powder and worcerser sauce.
i like to have it with noodles, but rice can work too.

Sounds like a good stir fry. I usually do the same. But no need to add soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. <- Has soy sauce in it.

lol yeh but i add both.. cause the soy is slightly more bland but add a dash of worcester for a more tangy taste.

Just got a new Weber grill over the weekend, gonna break it in with the best meal you could make. First gather a giant pile of wood chips and place underneath pile of charcoal bricks once charcoal is burned down to proper cooking coloration (75% grey). Spread the charcoal out so it creates a circular barrier around the area in which your chicken(s) will be placed on your grill. This is very important because you don't want to have direct flames on your chicken because this isn't like grillin burgers, this takes a good hour and half to hour forty-five minutes to cook.
TO recap, you got a big ass perimeter of coals surrounding a pile of soaked wood chips ( i like walnut or oak) but any thing will do. For city people I don't know what to tell you... grab whatever wood chips your grocery store sells and soak for a good 3-4 hours.
Figure out what direction the wind is blowing so you get proper air flow into the coals, you can't afford to have the coals die out due to improper placing of grill.
Once the smoke gets rollin Get 2 whole chickens and shove 2 Coors Originals up their asses and place above wood chips, close lid and close air vents to 75% open.
Prep during charcoal birth. During the 20 minutes that is needed for the charcoal to get ready, thoroughly clean your asparagus. Chop the bottom inch and a half off and discard.
BBQ sauce, **** buying a bbq sauce... make your own. Ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, chilli powder, a pinch or 2 of garlic powder, salt, olive oil. With some sort of brush utensil apply to chicken every 10 minutes.
When you are about an hour away from chicken being done, throw some potatoes in the oven on 400 degrees. Baked potatoes. I like to stab the **** out of the taters and wrap individually in aluminum foil.
Once you no longer see steam bellowing out of the asshole of the chicken carefully remove beer can and proceed to grill whole chicken with normal grilling techniques.
You are about 15 minutes from serving dinner, put a pan on high with a tiny bit of oil on bottom and throw your asparagus on. Saute these mother fuckers. Once soft but still have some crispness to them squirt some lemon juice on these badboys and season to taste.
Enjoy the juiciest fuckin chicken you will ever wrap your lips around.

That sounds great but entirely too much work. I skip vegtables because opening a can is too much work. And won't eat cereal so I don't have to get milk out fridge.
