Recording Purposes - 1080 or 720?

PS3 wont let you record with HDMI, unless you use a bypass method.
HDMI will work with 720. On youtube its not worth the filesize or little bit extra quality for 1080 over 720. Plus, most games dont use 1080 res anyways.
And there is 720p 1080p and 1080i.

PS3 uses HDCP. Its a copyright that wont let you record HDMI.

Quality makes no difference. The rendering will turn out the same with only having a larger file size to work with. Unless you're making movies, caring about video game quality is over rated.

720 vs 1080 won't make any difference unless you start watching on a massive tv at the correct viewing distances.
