While I would never buy a pre built desktop... laptops are another animal altogether. The pickings are slim and so much can go wrong with laptops that buying one not made by a larger company is almost a guaranteed lesson in frustration. Alienware just happens to make some pretty nice laptops and if there is one thing Dell has going for them it is their customer service.
Where they lack is in all of the add-on programs and not letting you just get what you need but instead forcing you to "pay" for things that you will never use. And their professional line (Dell) desktops are cheaply made and over priced unlike their gamer series (Alienware) desktops which are made with expensive parts and sometimes crummy MLB but still over priced.
