Alvin I: Activision Support reporting for duty!
How may I help you today?
You: Black ops 3 freezes so often. If it eventually corrupts my PS3 will activision send me a PS4 for compensation?
Alvin I: Sorry man, that got me bursting into laughter. Let me see what I can do for you, but I might not end up giving you a shiny new PS4.
You: Well.. thats a start
Alvin I: We always need to start from something, right? Anyway, Can you provide me your gamer ID?
You: vSyndrome
Alvin I: Alright thanks, so, is there an exact game mode where your game freezes?
You: Nope. Freezes every mode, every menu, randomly. Sometimes before I even press start to get into the game itself it freezes
Alvin I: Alright man, what have you done so far to fix it?
You: Loading everything
You: What have I done? I updated it. Made sure PS3 was up to date
You: Everyone on my friends list is having this issue. So I know its not a localized thing.
Alvin I: Okay, thanks for trying those.
Alvin I: Have you tried doing a systems cache?
You: systems cache? How do I do that?
Alvin I: Don't worry, I'll walk you through it man.
Alvin I: While in the PlayStation 3 Cross-Menu Bar (XMB) navigate to the Game section.
Alvin I: Scroll through this section until you find a folder called Game Data Utility.
You: So basically erasing the patch and redownloading it
Alvin I: Yes, that's correct.
You: I highly doubt that will do anything. Any other suggestion's?
Alvin I: Alright man, how about power cycling?
You: Forgot to mention I lowered my resolution so the game wouldnt look like its chugging and runing so clunky. Didnt seemt o cahnge anything but the picture quality
You: Ive power cycled everything 100 times when the game freezes
Alvin I: Alright then.
You: Also.. I think you meant the save data utility folder when you were referencing erasing the patch earlier.
Alvin I: I'm afraid it is man.
Alvin I: Anyway, let me check what I can still try for you.
You: Ok. Wasnt expecting miracles. Just wanted to know who was going to be held accountable for whenmy game console eventually stops working because the HDD gets corrupted from BO3 crashing(freezing) the entire system so often. Literally every 2 minutes.
Alvin I: I understand how you feel man, anyway, is there error messages you receive when the game crashes or freezes?
You: Nope. Entire console just locks up. All buttons become unresponsive. XMB will no longer pop up or anything.
You: Screen just freezes.
You: Have to do a hard reset every time.
Alvin I: I understand. Have you tried contacting PSN about this?
You: Its only Black Ops 3 this happens with. It has nothing to do with Sony.
Alvin I: I believe you have mentioned that your console is up to date, right?
You: Yes
Alvin I: Alright, can you check your game disc for me if it has abrasions scrathces, or dusts?
You: Its downloaded
Alvin I: Alright, sorry about that.
You: If by chance my console stops working. Who can I get in contact with about that?
You: It wouldnt be Sony.. they didnt break it.
Alvin I: You did tried re-downloading the game right? because the game file you have downloaded might have been corrupted along the way.
You: So you are telling me that everyone on my friends list that I see constantly signing in and out because of lock ups all have corrupted downloads? Now that has me laughing. I can try that, however again, I highly doubt that will have any impact on the games performance. Do you have an answer to my earlier question or no?
Alvin I: All I'm saying is that it's a possibility man, and about your question, I believe Activision can only replace game discs that has problems.
You: So if my console ends up biting it. Im pretty much at a loss. Suppose I should just stop playing BO3 then.
You: Technically I should stop doing what is causing the system to lock up. Its anything inside Black Ops 3. So I might as well not bother playing it
Alvin I: I respect your opinion, man. What I can do for you right now is take this concern as a feedback and forward it to the appropriate parties for further investigation.
Alvin I: If that's alright with you.
You: Lol
You: Yo can add it to the million other people that probably go into this chat about this same complaint. Sure.
You: Welp Alvin. Unless you can tell me you can give me a voucher for a redemption of a PS4 right now in this chat, I suppose our conversation is coming to an end.
Alvin I: I apologize, but we don't provide redemption for consoles. In the meantime, is there anything else I can assist you with?
You: Nope. Think you covered everything I can think of asking
Alvin I: Alright, thanks for chatting with us today. If you have any other questions relating to Call of Duty, please feel free to contact us by logging on to http://support.activision.com/Contact_Us or via Social Support (Twitter/Facebook/CommunityForums) 7 days a week. Have a good one.

Can you just feel him shitting his pants.
Seems to be missing the points where he says Please Hold while I try something, and he turns around and hollers Oh shit, we have another one that figured out it's 100% our fault. Should I freeze up the chat and make him reboot

I was thinking about buying it for PS3 until my PS4 gets fixed.
Fck that, don't want two broken consoles.

#69399The problem is that it's made for the newer consoles. So when it's back ported it sucks ass.
AW had the same issue on PS3 but on ps4 it was golden. So I'm sure bo3 will be the same unless someone who played it on ps4 can shine light on it cause i haven't played it yet

I still think your game disc has a scratch in it.
Yeah, I know it's downloaded, but, that seems to be the most likely cause....a scratched game disc. I downloaded my game as well when I had it on my PS3, so, no disc, but, I think I kept freezing because of the scratches in the disc.
^^^^^ makes about as much sense as dickhole at Activision.
