This show is AMAZING. Never really watched the movie back in the 90's. Had a gist of what the movie was about. Started watching the show when it first came on.
Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman are pretty brilliant actor's. Actually, the entire ensemble of cast in this show.. does an amazing job.
The story is so well put together.
I thought I made this thread already, but couldnt find it searching. Was thinking how I just started watching Penny Dreadful, and im thinking about giving it a few more episodes to decide if I like it or not. I can safely say.. Fargo will have you captivated with the very first episode. It was a no brainer weekly MUST watch show for me.
If you havent started watching this yet, seriously give it a watch. I HIGHLY recommend it.

The films on Netflix. I haven't seen it but my sister told me I'd like it. Just finished house of cards so it might fill a void.

Its not on Netflix.
Its on FX. Look it up On Demand (Although, you may have to watch Commercials that way).
It has aired about 8 episodes I think. I heard or read somewhere that it was only going to be a 10 show mini series. If thats the case, cant wait for these last few episodes. They might be the best television I watch all year.

Guy is tired of his current life. Shit goes sideways. Hitmen and a crazy plot. Cops and Detectives. Rural Minnesota 2006. Every episode starts with this:
""This is a true story. The events depicted in this show took place in Minnesota in 2006. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred."
It really draws you into a story. Tons of drama.
It also stars Colin Hanks and Bob Odenkirk (Also known as Saul Goodman from BB) In somewhat lesser roles.

Same happened with True Detective.
Fargo is brilliant though. Love Billy Bob.

rural 2006? The actual Fargo tragedy happened in 1987
In 2006, the film was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and inducted into the United States National Film Registry for preservation, making it one of only five films to be preserved in its first year of eligibility.
So the series is set in 2006 and is about the Fargo Tragedy? Yeah sounds dumb as hell. Just watch the movie.

Doesn't matter if it's good. What does 2006 and 1987 have in common? nothing.

Would you watch a bad show if the facts were accurate? It is a damn good show, doesn't matter what the facts are to me either, I'm watching it because I enjoy watching it. Its like saying you don't watch Science Fiction movies and shows because they are unrealistic.

what do you mean if the dates are different? What the heck is the point of the show then if you are going to change the time frame in which it took place? Call it Bismarck or Sioux Falls or some shit. Its retarded.

On another note, only 2 episodes left of Orange is the New Black for me. Almost cleansed my palate just in time for all the new Summer shows to start!
