So I was reading the other thread, about how youtube ruined the community. People playing like WoR or whatever. Emulating what they see on youtube, and most of it +is douchebaggery (we all know).
So before Youtube is what it is now... a few of us watched Youtube and had certain players we all liked to watch. Even if you dont want to admit it... just admit it.
First real youtuber I watched was SandyRavage. Back on MW2... the guy wrecked. Plain and simple. He would obliterate everyone... with a straight head on approach. Loved his style, and really wanted to emulate it. He had the "ROCKSTAR" persona... and still does today. All the kiddies get to see him SLAY and ride around in his mustang with a custom License plate that says "S RAVAGE".
He got big on youtube, without ever doing a commentary. It took a long time before ANYONE heard his voice.
So who was y'alls? I know some liked xCal. I never watched too many Cod4 vids back in the day.

Didn't know or watch any of them unless they were posted on sites. Watched some of Sandy's, took no time to realize he was playing his own TDM in every single lobby.
Think the 1st I saw of him was with M16 on Estate and he was 1 burst killing everyone instantly, thought he had incredible aim + connection off the server for being a big name. I was convinced the devs gimped all 11 other players when certain people got in a room.

xcal.
Played domination in domination. Wrecked faces, backs of heads, ears, and uterii.
I liked watching some people play, but BlameTruth was too campy, Hutch was a snizziper. Same with Grizz. I knew immediately that sniping was an unfair way to play. OHK, infinite range shotties. Spend a day or 7 QS'ing and you'll be a bawse. Wasn't into that kind of bawstitude.
So, yeah, xcal in the olden days. xcal today. xcal foreva. foreva eva...fo eva eva...

If I was ever a fanboy of anyone or anything, it's xcal.
He was who formed my gaming mentality, my playstyle, and my loathe for people who don't play an objective.
Other famous YT'ers were meh. Xcal was a wrecker with anything in his hands, in any game mode, on any COD iteration.

Sandy. He rushes hard and kills a lot. But I think he dropped the whole "objective thing" in BO1. Been a while since I have checked him and his videos.
Did not care about him dropping the objective. Copied his SPAS-12 class in MW2 and went hunting. I always aim to get killstreaks but I might as well play the objective. Not into the whole "slayer" game style.

He got more kills in 1 GW AC than I could in 3-4 TDM matches.Ik0n wrote:Only one I ever watched and actually subscribed to was SandyRavage.. because of his playstyle.. his effective use of the ac130 was ridiculous.
To him, AC = 35 + kills and nuke. To me, AC = I was gonna need 5 more kills after the laptop closed.
