The title of this thread should have been, "Solved a dilemma by figuring something out about myself which led to a new toy".
I was out and about the other day and had forgotten my laptop yet again. Normally what has happened is I leave for a trip or a weekend getaway and either I forget or I say "eh I won't need it", then something happens where I do need it and I run into a Best Buy or another retailer and buy a new laptop. So this time (which would have been the eighth) it dawned on me, I am probably subconsciously wanting to forget the laptop because I need something smaller.
I have my rugged cell phone Motorola Tundra which I love because it reminds me of a mini me to my ToughBooks. And my other phone is Satellite and it's really just an instrument for talking and GPS location... but the thing is BADA**! I love it.
So what did I do?
I bought an HTC One X android phone. I was not sure at first who I was going to go with as a provider but decided to just get another line with AT&T.
The only drawback for me is that I use TeamViewer and other remote desktop software and VPN to control computers at home, at the Hospital and at my parents businesses stateside and abroad and the screen is really too small for quick stuff, you need a good few minutes to enlarge and shrink stuff to read it.
So far the apps I have found have been great I even dld'd some games. MahJong (I am a nut for MahJong) and a game like Bejeweled oh and this game that shows you four pictures and then you have to guess the word that the pictures have in common which is pretty fun.
Oh another drawback is there does not seem to be any software for controlling Mikrotik routers or that give you the ability to use BTest. On the bright side though I did load the Merck manual and a few Veterinary Drug books along with some other stuff.
So I was wondering if any of you have a phone that uses the Android OS and if you do what apps do you use and why also what apps are your favorite and why.
Thanks in advance for any "to die for apps" you might share that you could just not do without.
Here are some of mine: *Still in the testing phase to find the "cannot do without apps" Except for Zombies Run! that is a must have.
Games:
Apps:
*Still testing fitness apps so that Is why I did not list any.
And the number one app I love: Zombies Run!
You are Runner 5. Hundreds of lives are counting on you. You've got to help your base rebuild from the ruins of civilization by collecting critical supplies while avoiding roving zombie hordes. Can you save them and learn the truth about the zombie apocalypse?
You like zombies? You like running? Even if you do not like running or even walking this app will get you charged up and going.
And if you are like me and very rough on your toys and/or do not like getting tangled up in wires these are perfect.
These are awesome!

That's what she does.
I have an iPhone, and barely use it for anything other than my browser for Reddit, Facebook and phone/texting.
