If any of you guys are near a tv, find Discovery or any other news channel that may be showing this Red Bull Stratos. Dude is about to jump out of a balloon at 120,000 and try and break the sound barrier.... by simply falling.

I've heard of it on the radio the other day,
What's the terminal velocity for human freefall? It can't be past the sound barrier..

I watched it.
He broke the sound barrier (unofficially). Was hard to tell on the "MPH" graphic they had on the screen. It surpassed 700mph.
The initial jump was INTENSE.
I missed the entire first half of my browns game watching this. lol.
Started watching it when the guy was 97k feet up.

It was amazing how quick he disappeared from view when he first jumped.

Didn't watch it. Terminal velocity will be much much higher at them altitudes though due to the air being so much thinner.

Yeah.
They were saying for the first 30 seconds of free fall because the air is so thin, he would have no control over what happened. Talk about f*cking scary as hell. lol.
Did you see the sun reflecting off the visor when he was in the capsule? That was pretty cool. And the view from the capsule when he opened the door. Holy ballsacks. Seeing pure black, with a bright blue glow on the bottom.

If your friends jumped off a space balloon at 729 mph, would you do it too?!

If given the chance to do that, I would in a heartbeat.
"Hunter Buie, otherwise known as "The Moose" wont be attempting to break any record today. He WILL be breaking that record. He will be doing it naked as well, so viewers beware."
On the real note... 729 mph?! DA FUQ?!

That was sick, dudes got balls of steel for sure. I was chatting with Blake while it was going and I think he was about to jizz himself LOL.
I think it'd be hard not to just wanna hang out up there for a while, who knows if you'd ever get the chance to again. Truly ahh inspiring to see the world in such a way, even just seeing it on television was amazing.

I agree. It had to be surreal when he was standing out there waiting to jump. Just thinking "Im almost 130,000 feet above everything."
